How did you get the harness for the parking sensors plugged back in? For the life of me, I can't get the sensor/fog light harness to plug back into the connector behind the fender/grill.
Same - I ran the harness out of the opening between the support and bumper frame on the far driver side but don't have enough length to reattach the plug. Any advice?

ok, where the harness in the bumper connects back to the plug just underneath the driver's side headlight, that plug underneath the headlight is held there by a plastic anchor. Pop that plug out of the anchor point and that gives you just enough length to get the harness connected. The plug is anchored in there pretty good and I had to give it quite a pull even after working on it with a trim removal tool, but after that came free everything connected up and worked fine.

I'll put in a couple of photos. 1 of the connector's anchor after I removed it and the other of the connector from underneath/behind the bumper. Hope those help.

Just wanted to confirm for anyone switching from the capable to modular bumper, the sensors and sensor grommets aren’t the same. I knew I’d have to cut off some of the notches on my grommets so they’d go into the holes on the mod bumper, but I didn’t realize what the issue was for the sensors, themselves, until after I started the swap.

With the capable bumper, the sensors you get have the plugs stick straight out the back of them instead of at a 90 degree angle like the other versions. This is fine for the middle two sensors, but the ones on the end get pushed through the front of the bumper when you install the metal brace that goes behind them. Ford sells these other sensors for around $200, so I decided to modify the plugs going into the back of the sensors I had to get me enough clearance. I was able to cut about 0.25” off the plugs and it was just enough to get everything reinstalled correctly.

Besides the ford schematics are there good sources for images of the back of the MOD bumper? I have all of the parts loose but nothing seems to sit flush as I mock it up.
thanks

This is the closest I've got. If you'd have asked me yesterday, I could've gotten some more detailed pictures. Some of the parts are up on the work bench.

That bolts into the lower middle area behind the mod bumper. See the red line in the photo below. Out of all the pieces in that photo, that should be bolted on first.

Is it an issue for all 4 sensors or just the outers?

Ended up disassembling my bumper again to do fog light wiring, snapped a few photos of the backside. Hopefully this answers your questions.

Thanks! Really appreciate it! That will be very helpful as I assemble the bumper!

Picked up a capable bumper without sensors but it has the outline to add sensors, just gotta get sensor grommets that work cause the plastic bumper sensor grommets are slightly off. @flip any idea what the part numbers are for the capable bumper sensor grommets?

Anyone swap in the modular for the non-sensor Black Diamond metal bumper?

about to ask the same thing. I think we "may" have it easier without the sensor junk going on. glad I ordered a low technology rig. the less "sensors", the better! I did the same thing the OP did, ordered a capable bumper because I was afraid the modular would have prolonged my build.
