Greetings! I’m finally ready to pull the trigger and I have been casually following the forums for a couple years. I live in the Houston area and I am a little underwhelmed by my local dealer. I am wondering if any of you have had particularly great experiences with dealers across Texas. I am also willing to travel outside of the state. I know that Granger was at least at one point a very popular location for the great deals and service.

From what I have gathered a 2025 order is taking about 3 to 4 months to arrive. Is this what y’all are seeing also?

Many thanks!

In the last 3 years I have purchased vehicles in Texas, Colorado, and California. Some was based on availability and some on price. I found that the purchase process was fairly straightforward regardless of where I bought.

If you decide to buy it out of state, you will need to either have the dealership pay the taxes, or you will have to pay them yourself. The Colorado dealership didn't pay the taxes fast enough andI was stuck paying around $150 in late fees. I think their check arrived on day 32 instead of 30, or something like that.

I was going to fly to LA to pick up the California car, but the dealer told me that if I did that, I would have to pay CA sales tax of almost 10%, instead of Texas 6.25%. If it was shipped, then I could pay the Texas Texas. It was literally cheaper to have the car put on a trailer and sent to Texas than pay the difference in Tax. Estimate about $1 per mile to have the car shipped.

Road-tripping in your new Bronco is fun if you decide to go somewhere to pick it up. I bought my second Bronco south of Dallas and drove out to LA that same week on vacation.

Once you have the Bronco, you local service departments shouldn't care where you bought the vehicle.

If I was to buy another Bronco, I would absolutely look nationwide. You can also entice your local dealers to match any order that you get somewhere else. Broncos are not the scarce commodity anymore, so they should want to negotiate to get the sale.

As for Granger, I bought an extended warranty through them. MUCH cheaper than what the local dealership was asking.

I've had good experience at Mac Haik Ford on Katy Fwy at Bwy 8. 2 recent vehicle purchases including the back-ordered Bronco. PM me if you want my sales person contact.

My local El Paso dealers did not want to deal, so I bought my bronco through Bob Udder Ford in Sherman, TX through a group buy organized on this forum. Great experience. I also bought a Maverick through Granger. Great experience as well.

What about Tomball Ford, I see the Jorge Lopez videos on YouTube. He seems like a straight guy to deal with.
It’s north metro Houston area.
Anyone in TX have input on them?

Just picked up up my 2025 from Granger on Tuesday. Ordered in Nov. I cannot begin to tell you how great the experience was with them. Everything was seamless, they done hundreds of these orders and have their process down. Even a free ride from the airport. I will buy from them again without a doubt. Call Samantha and at least have a conversation. Can’t go wrong with below dealer invoice. It’s a long drive back to NE FL but my son and I are having a blast taking the back roads.

Thanks for the input! Great looking rig, but not as awesome as the experience with your man-cub.

I have bought from Tomball ford. They were not motivated to get down and deal. Once we had a good offer they got right and had the truck we wanted. So, we went back to them.
I bought my Bronco after driving to Humble to test drive a Wildtrack and Badlands back-to-back, Not ready to get a Bronco just yet. They just had both available. Once I was ready, I gave them a call and they found one and had a good price, went to get the Bronco and there was a tear (not all the way through) in the driver seat. So, they found another and were preparing to get it. Thats when I found my current bronco in Spring with a Painted black top just surfing the net in their showroom. We used the Humble dealers offer and snagged the one in Spring.
Went and bought another Bronco a month ago in Conroe. My wife uses Conroe service and was looking at the broncos. The first salesman was not doing anything just what you see available for incentives online. Was walking out and the service manager sent here to a motivated salesman. They got it done.
It really depends on the Salesman you get when you walk in and how the Floor Manager is feeling.

You can tell we live on the northside of Houston.

I bought my first Bronco from Stanley Ford in Gilmer. They were awesome to deal with. Very honest dealership.

Second came from Jim Bass in San Angelo. They were great to deal with as well. Bass did try to play the add on game with a protection package and nitrogen. They backed off when I refused to play, though. Otherwise they offered a very competitive discount and seemed straightforward.

Both deals were done on the phone and online without seeing the vehicles first. I found no cause to regret either deal.

+1 on the Sherman store, that's where I got mine. And if anyone's looking for it it's Bob "Utter" (although they pronounce it Udder).

Thanks to all for the input. I placed my order this week with the guy @B22-2023 worked with at Mac Haik in Katy. Looking at production to begin week of May 19.
