PSA - Fix Non Functional Raptor "R" Button

After a dealer service this steering wheel button became entirely non functional. It wouldn't restore or memorize a set of vehicle settings. I found some positive advice on another forum about disconnecting the battery. This did not work for me when disconnecting for a minute or so, but luckily did work after disconnecting for about an hour. Hope this helps others.

Thats how I fixed mine! Havent had the issue repeat since the reset.

Crap, switch went out again today. I'm sure a dealer can't even investigate... I use this button at every startup.

that sucks. i feel that reason everything gets reset after ignition off is so that button gets used, wouldnt be a big problem if it just kept the settings between starts

I have my bronco as well as an F-150 Raptor. While my button hasn’t had any issues, I know I’ve seen a few threads on the issue over on the Ford Raptor Forum. You may way to go take a Quick Look to see if they’ve come up with any different fixes.

My R button stopped working for about a week when it was new, but about another 2 weeks it started to work again and I haven't had an issue since. I didn't do a battery reset either soo don't know, but this is something that is happening seeing more of it.

Hmmm, working on some other larger mods so been too lazy to do another "battery reset", but viola, after ignoring the lack of the R button for a few days it started working again. Odd.

My 24MY raptor just started doing this yesterday and today.

The seek buttons on the wheel also just randomly didn't work on one drive like last week.

Mine has been out about a week. Saw the battery disconnect fix on another forum somewhere through Google search results and didn't fix it for me. I used this every start. Too many issues for a 6 week old car with 1800 miles.

@MidwayJ , did you leave the battery disconnected for 10 mins or so? I think my first attempt didn't work with a quick disconnect period. GL.

I didn't time it but I would say right around the 10 minute mark. Maybe I try again and leave it off for longer. I'll let the group know if that helps - appreciate the response!

Just as a follow up, I left it disconnected for several hours and still no R button. All other buttons on the steering wheel appear to be working just fine - so odd.
