Just took this picture of a rapid red Explorer yesterday. Thought it looked great in the light. And even looks good with the MIC black pieces (like door handles and mirrors on my Base will be).

Now I’m leaning back toward rapid red. I think it fits better with the Badlands grill than my alternate, Carbonized Gray. I also think I’ll see less other rapid red Broncos out there.

Fans of Rapid Red and fellow OB or FE holders (I know, very specific),
What are your opinions on the navy pier interior with rapid red? I’ve really liked RR from the beginning, and it’s a top 2 choice for me. I thought I would hate the navy pier, but I saw it today on the sport and it looks great. Very unique and much more interesting than my only other all black alternative (FE holder). However, I’m concerned how the RR and navy pier would look together. Thoughts?

Red, Blue and Gray together reminds me of a Tylenol capsule. Just my thoughts. Personally going with the Black interior but as my wife says, your paying for it get what you want ?

Personally, the vibrancy of these pictures is what I see in person when seeing spotless, clean, waxed Rapid Red. How so? Well that's the tinted clear coat (of the "Tri-Coat" system Ford is up-charging you for) that gives the clear an ability to enhance the depth and color that your eyes can pick up.

Nothing inherently amazing about what Ford has done, just that they are offering Rapid Red with such a small up-charge for what is a more expensive process and more expensive materials (and more expensive repairs, with more difficult color matching). IMHO, Mazda's Soul Red Crystal has greater depth and shimmer in it's tri-coat than Ford offers, but they charge more than twice as much, and materials are double Ford's price when/if you need to re-spray anything.

Bottom line - absolutely love the RR color, but hesitate about it going with navy pier. Don’t have the patience to wait on black interior.

One thing is for sure, Black leather over Rapid Red would look awesome.

Rapid Red for me. I was considering the AMB and Oxford White as well, but my daughters agreed that the red just popped. I need to get out to the dealership to see it in person before getting to place my order, but from everything I've seen posted here it is going to be tough to move away from it. Plus, there is more than enough bright sunshine in Houston to ensure that pop is visible year round!

95% ready to place a rapid red order. Color looks great, but wife is torn between this and A51. I had a red 05 Toyota xrunner that had some major fading issues. Door handles, fender flares, side mirrors all needed to be resprayed 5 years in. Hopefully not an issue here, but that wouldn't stop me from buying red again. Seems like it's one of the less popular colors, which I'm a fan of.
