Raptor Tailgate Hinges installed with Hammerbilt Bracket

I was told one can use a magnet on the end of a semi rigid line (like thick weed eater line) and fish the plate into approximate place that way...the tailgate is aluminum so the magnet should pick up the plate without sticking to the sides.

That is what I recommend...and using an alignment plate (I used a piece of sheet metal and nuts epoxied onto the back). I used wedges under and on the sides of the gate and took pictures for reference, then unbolted the gate and moved it off to the side, then swung the hinges out to make my alignment plate, then unbolted the top, mounted the Raptor hinge, then repeated.

When I last spoke with Tyson he indicated HB is going to produce their own Raptor-style hinges in steel (not sure if forged or cast is the plan but they passed on aluminun). They also finished their reinforcement plates for the Raptor hinges with the final bends in them that allow the plates to bolt up to the hinges seamlessly. I am running their first-run plate on my hinge and it is awesome.

We are working on the stop point of the hinge to limit the gate to opening just past 90 degrees. the first batches will be cut from a solid block of high strength steel and cost less than the oem version of the raptor hinges. No eta yet, but as soon as I can share the 3d design I will post here with pre order links!

Quick update,
We are working really hard to perfect the bronco tailgate for you, the hinge is the final piece of the puzzle as it will address the last two of the three weaknesses..
1.) Flimsy aluminum tailgate prone to creak/pop and dent, even from the weight of a Sasquatch tire/wheel combo. (Hammer Built Modular reinforcement bracket)
2.) 133lb weight limit the oem hinges.. most 37 setups weigh 105-125lb making adding rotopax/trcton boards/tire storage platform ill advised. (Hammer Built HD Hinges)
3.) Oem factory strut doesn't prevent gear stored on tailgate bracket from contacting taillight in fully opened scenarios. Our HD hinges will have a limit point engineered in to prevent this...

We just finished our HD Whip mounts for the Dune style heavier 4-8' led units and Tamper proof a pillar brackets with security hardware which we will be releasing next week...
