After 4 years of wanting a Bronco I finally got a Big Bend with the 2.3 auto. I was curious what I should and shouldn't do to improve/keep the reliability of this Bronco as I plan on keeping it till the wheels fall off.

RTFM, do what it says, and drive the hell out of it.

I'd say there are a few things you can do besides "don't drive it." Obviously that is the only route to keep it pristine but in terms of general reliability change your fluids at the right intervals and determine how down the rabbit hole of maintenance you want to go. I'd recommend looking at this post by CarbonSteel.

Beyond that, you could look to add some more bash plates underneath to the lower control arms and whatnot that doesnt have it from the factory. I also went ahead and PPF'd mine but that less "reliability" and more just keeping things pristine.

First and foremost, it's a Ford.

I don't know if you've owned a Ford before, and that statement means a lot of different things to different people.

If all you do is drive on road, and you remember to change the oil when the light pops up and occasionally replace the tires and brake pads and maybe a battery, you can probably get 200k miles with no sweat. Assuming you didn't get one made on a Friday.

I'm at 3 years as a daily driver. Change your oil and rest of fluids when needed and fix anything that comes up. I feel better with 5k oil changes. So far so good, just minor stuff.

There isn’t much you can do about the electronics, rubber and plastic. So just maintain what you can and drive it.

Don’t put 75 pound mud terrains on it.

I was going to say, buy a Toyota. But, not sure that applies anymore. Just enjoy it, man. I love Ford. I mean, I’m not sure what to think about them. I’ve seen crazy high mileage Ecoboost engines, and I’ve read plenty, that Ford is garbage. I just like their stuff. GM is owned by the Chinese. Stellantis has gone to complete crap. I think it’s more important than ever, to support the USA. And, if that means a few more issues than the Japanese offerings, so be it. I just bought my wife a 24 Bronco, and I got myself a 24 F150 Raptor. Wish me luck.

Enjoy the ride 🇺🇸🤙🏼
