That looks like a perfect hole and if you look close so you can see some plastic shavings and kind of like where the hole saw bounced around a bit

Obviously not the way you want to have to/be forced to do it, but looking at the reddish chocolate color of the fluid on the pan itself, it needed to be changed.
Hey @CarbonSteel, how are those transmission fluid changing instruction going.. I don’t think punching the pan would be part of that..😂

Also, perfect holes like that remind me of bullets holes.. If there were shots that night, they come down and ricochet off the frozen pavement.. Your truck….. Got wasted! 😎

Trying to decide when to do it. I have about 6,500 miles on it and was going to wait to 10K.

Just curious, I have the 30,000 mile 2022 Wildtrak that has front /back differentials done and transfer case.. Next is the transmission and I bet the fluid is dark… 🤓

I just changed mine Thursday at work, same mileage and it wasn’t too bad at all. ULV usually stays pretty clean typically.
To be honest all of my fluids looked really clean, but I changed them all regardless.

I had mine up on a lift to do it until I realized ambient temps outside wouldn't let it get to the proper level-check temp (I seriously drove it around for an hour on the way to the garage and it never touched 200 - the joys of frigid Michigan).

BUT!

I still pulled the dipstick for S&G's and the fluid was still looking pretty decent. I still want to change it before I hit 35-40, but it was nowhere as bad as I feared.
