Just looking at the CGI pic on B&P, it looks like the front crossbar has a forward and middle bolt-on option...?
My Escape has the same, however the rear position (for the front bar) is just a stow position to help reduce interior wind noise.
Can someone confirm that this option position exists? And/or is this just a "Bronco bolt" accessories mount and not designed for the crossbar?
Also, having a 3rd crossbar would open up some creative rack usages.

Yes the front bar can be mount in either position. I may mount mine to the rear to carry a small basket, or front to carry a kayak. A third rail can be purchased through Ford, but it's $195, seems a bit much, but I may do it so I don't have to constantly move the rail. I think Owners Manual states a rail in the front position may cause wind noise.

Yes, it exists. Ford is offering a third crossbar as an accessory (but no full roof rack yet).

edit: looks like @dgorsett covered it
