Just ordered the Rock Slide Engineering EZ Rack

Ford Bronco Rotopax setup 1639456507961

Ford Bronco Rotopax setup 1639456553430

And 2 rotopax cans for my trip out to Zion and KOH. Always ready with some emergency gas, just in case. I have had the “privilege” to be out of gas in not nice areas, deployed, in a military vehicle. I’ll be damned it will happen again with my personal truck lol.

What capacity are those cans? I was thinking of doing a similar setup
2.5 gal containers (x2 for a total of 5 gal) are the largest size recommended and are sold separately.

The EZ rack is a good modular set up. I don’t always want to roll around with the cans on so being able to disconnect it for around-town driving is nice.

I’m waiting for the Hobbs or Gobi rack, which ever comes first, so I have a back up location to strap the cans down if I have to use my spare.

I almost bought this same setup, and probably will, in the end.
My biggest fear was someone pilfering them while stopped at a hotel between point A and the trails (when the trails are several states away). I struggled with "Do I unpack the back, take stuff in the hotel and put the setup in the back, only to have to reinstall them the next morning?"
Maybe I'm too skeptical of people.
Seeing what I've seen happen in the world the last several years, I don't think so. But ya never know.

I do like the simplicity, price, and ease of use. It's very tempting.

Don't fill them until you are ready to leave the pavement. Keep them inside until you are ready to use. Hotel/Motel parking lots are a free for all for thieves.
