I took my doors off for the first time today and had the same problem… I have had the hills assist issue before and the earliest my dealer can get me in is next week. But all of the other lights/ codes are new…
I’ll see if the transmission note stops when I put the doors back on but it’s definitely a bit unsettling.

Had the right rear ABS sensor malfunction on the trail yesterday. Total alrmageddon on the dash. Would not switch goat modes, and most importantly, engage lockers - which I could have really used to avoid the traffic leaving lake Pleasant at the end of the trail. Fortunately, I was able to shift between 2hi, 4hi and 4low. Will see if I can get it in today or tomorrow. If not, I'll do some investigating to see if it's just loose.

Why the hell won't lockers engage when ABS is hosed?

Sounds like it thinks the door is open going down the road, so applies the brake. Very common safety protocol on most new vehicles today.
No, this is not a standard feature on Broncos anyway. We have a thing here in Boise when going up/down to Bogus Basin ski area you have to let the trolls in and out by opening your doors over a cattle grate. I've done this numerous times and the brakes aren't not applied due to an open door.

That’s a good one! We had to lift our feet over the cattle guards and railway crossings, and of course hold the horn on in all the snow sheds along the Roger’s Pass section of Trans Canada #1.

This is really sad. Taking doors off is a feature of the vehicle. If it’s true that you must power off the vehicle before removing the doors, or you could end up with unsafe auto braking and codes, this just a lack of failure modes and effects analysis. Software should be able to deal with the user doing any combo of activity. For this to happen is pure lazy sloppy and incompetent programming. Hopefully Ford will fix the software before I get mine. If it’s a bad thing to pull doors off with power on then it should at least give a warning

Update on the ABS sensor - I crawled under the rig and jiggled, messed with the sensor plug pretty good. Did not see anything obvious otherwise. All problems have now gone away. Still taking it in Wed though as I don't want an intermittent issue.

I had many of the same errors appear today, though my brakes did not misbehave. I immediately exited the highway and restarted the vehicle at a stoplight and the issue persisted. I could not change GOAT modes, but switching from 2H to 4A cleared the issue. From there I was able to pick normal mode again and the issue cleared.

Update: Our dealer called today and said that they have ordered a new ABS Module. Will be at least 7 business days before it arrives. They are telling me that is unrelated to the doors being off and that they were able to duplicate the issue with the doors on but we never experienced that. I do know that Ford reached out to me and has let me know that the service manager has been reaching out to the Ford technical team to find a solution to the problem and I guess this is what they came up with. I'm praying this takes care of it!

There is a thread somewhere here that highlights the procedure per manual of removing doors and it involves something along the line of turning on in accessory position only, then lower windows, then turn off, maybe back on again, etc. Or was that tow mode? I would not be surprised however if there is not a song and dance that must be performed before removing doors and having tobalso recalibrate windows each time doors are reinstalled...if that's the case my doors are never coming off

Bump. Having this same issue. Happens about 1/2 the time when starting the vehicle with the doors off. Really really really annoying especially when I’m trying to show off my new bronco to somebody and take them for a ride and the first thing that happens is the thing starts throwing out warnings like crazy! 😂. Really wish Ford would provide an answer to this issue as this seems be a recurring problem that has been happening for a while to a lot of people.

Update: Get it together Ford! Got it out of the shop after having the ABS Module replaced. Took the doors off and made a trip to the Gulf Coast to ride around with friends. Same crap again! Beyond frustrated and deep down knew this would happen. Our dealership is over an hour away and it's just not easy getting away from work to deliver and pick it back up. Not to mention, they put my wife in an Escape. How is that comparable to a Lux Badlands? I just want my $60K vehicle to work correctly.

OK I started having this issue pop up random after taking my doors off. Only when I start it, seat belt was on first. Sounds like a software update is needed for sure. I just clear all the errors and turn the brake off and go on my way.

I just took my doors off for first time and am having this issue as well. No fix for this yet?

I had my doors off once, didn’t follow any special procedure, and didn’t have any issues. This scares the crap out of me though.

I think this makes the top 3 safety issues list for me:

1. 2.7L valve explosions
2. Doors off brake slamming
3. Flimsy tie rods

No but tag @Ford Motor Company , they contacted me from another thread I posted in and needing the VIN etc. Maybe they are collecting data for its a batch problem or software problem all around?
