I know Iām new around here, but I got lucky. I ordered 12/19/21 with a relatively simple build (2.7 4 door BD, iconic silver, soft top, mod bumper, and mid package). I chose a dealer that is huge and sells more Raptors than anyone in the nation. I figured that could give them more allocation and was right, as Iām scheduled for 3/28 build week. I feel bad for those who have been waiting so long. I was prepared to wait into 2023.Iām convinced there are people coming to this site and making shit up just to watch the chaos
So do you honestly believe that these things are not happening? Ford DID change the rules of the game several times and lets not forget that promised production date we were supposed to get in May 2021.Iām convinced there are people coming to this site and making shit up just to watch the chaos
You are correct. Took 2 months to get mine after I switched to soft top. I dont understand what all the trucks that are sitting around these ghost mountains by the hundreds are waiting for?The 2-door people don't much have that option though. Because the 2-door requires the hardtop, which has been a key constraint.
But yeah, someone late ordering a more basic 4-door soft top, apparently will have a decent chance seeing it delivered sooner than most.
But the big dealers porridge was too hot. And the medium dealers porridge was too cold... Ok... sorry, couldn't resist.Youāre gonna hate this but I have 3 orders with 3 different dealers in 3 different states and each of them are different sizes. One dealer is big, the other medium and, you guessed it, the last is a small town dealer. All ordered last week.
I hope yours does come in and your luck does change but I didnāt want to hedge my bets on one crappy dealer so I diversified between 3 of them.
Correct, but I'm not letting Ford off the hook that easy. Their messaging since reservations opened in July 2020 to about the middle of last year was consistently emphasizing the reservation timestamp and saying that Broncos would be delivered roughly in that order. For everyone saying Ford needs to "fix" the order request process, remember they have dealer contractual obligations along with a quilt work of state laws they have to comply with. And some of those obligations go back to the start of the franchise era.
Yeah, Ford could have messaged better. And it's embarrassing when you can track an order through Dominos easier than through Ford.Correct, but I'm not letting Ford off the hook that easy. Ford always knew that they were attempting to crudely map a reservation system onto the ancient franchise model. And they kept up that messaging long after they received 150k+ reservations and clearly understood that parts and dealer allocation were going to be big issues. They also never came clean and admitted that timestamp was near-useless now; they just stopped emphasizing it.
We all get how the system works, but it's not unreasonable for people to be upset at Ford for not doing what Ford itself repeatedly said it would do.
I believe these things are happening⦠I also believe that their is fabrication on some of these build stories⦠just my opinion. So do you honestly believe that these things are not happening? It's definitely not unique to Ford. The big three always have to be dragged kicking and screaming into the present.Yeah, Ford could have messaged better. And it's embarrassing when you can track an order through Dominos easier than through Ford.
But I also went through these issues when I special ordered a Chevy Spark, so my bar for good service from Ford was set pretty low by GM.
