Hi all,

I have a '21 OBX Softop high package. As of late my back vinyl window has become difficult to see out of. I tried cleaning it (gently) to no avail. Can someone recommend a simple rear view camera to replace my rearview mirror. I know Wolfbox has some good products but I don't need anything super fancy. Thanks!

How old are you, and do you wear glasses?

If you wear glasses for distance, and are over 40, be aware that rear view mirror cameras require you to switch to near vision every time you look at them - while regular mirrors don’t.

The impact is that if you are over 40, your eyes are already on their way towards not being able to change your focus from far to near and back as quickly as they used to.

Took me a few minutes in a test drive of a car with a camera for a rear view to figure out what was going on.

Ford does offer that as an option on newer Broncos (approx $600). Not sure if you can upgrade an older one with the system. They are becoming more popular and you might be able to find an aftermarket solution soon. Isn't the rear window easily separated? Couldn't you just try to secure a replacement?

I turned 40 recently and these are good points. I should just leave it.

I did see a post with a raptor having an integrated camera in the third brake light, pretty cool. And you're right, I can just replace the back window probably!

Do you have details on what Ford offers? I want a digital rearview mirror so I can see when my soft top is folded back, or if I have gear blocking my view. I looked at aftermarket options like Wolfbox but it seems they all require additional cameras to be installed. My Bronco already has front and rear cameras. It would be great if Ford (or anyone else) offers a digital rearview mirror that taps into the existing cameras.

So you all think the exsisting back up cameras are no good? I thought it also had a 360 degree camera. I have two Fords with back up cameras and they work fine for me and i have worn glasses since i was 38 and that was decades ago.

Brand motion Clear View or Wolfbox. I have the BM, and it’s great. My son and buddy have the wolfbox. The wolfbox is 4k video and you can download video to your phone. I have to pull the card from mine to get recorded videos.

Backup cameras are fine - it’s the ones that replace your rear view mirrors that aren’t great.
