Hello! This write up serves as a guide for anyone interested in relocating their Sirius XM/ GPS antenna with the Armadillo top. While the GPS still worked fine, the XM couldn’t get through.

Materials needed:
- 3/32” drill bit
- 1/8” drill bit
- Step bit to 3/4”
- Exacto Knife or stamp tool
- Pliers
- 10mm wrench
- Trim tool
- Optional: Jig to locate the drilling location (acquired through armadillo)
- Optional: antenna extension
- OEM antenna off Bronco or aftermarket
Warning ⚠: some antennas look the same but do not have the Sirius XM antenna colocated with the GPS. So be sure before you buy another antenna that is can serve as GPS and XM

Install
Install went in accordance with the video below. Here are some additions and considerations not mentioned:
- removing the plastic trim below where the XM antenna wiring is located was fairly straight forward. It all pops off with no screws holding it in, just don’t forget to unplug the dome light
- it is possible to remove the OEM antenna after the top has been installed. After unscrewing the antenna with the trim off I unbolted the back half of the hard top then lifted it just enough to slide the OEM antenna out. You can also just buy another one, but be sure it has the XM band in it.
- the antenna has 2 layers of water proofing already included within it so when you tighten it down it shouldn’t be an issue. As a precaution I added some Sika Seal around the edges since I had it on hand

Good walkthrough and solution!

I’d be too paranoid drilling through a brand new hard top so would probably just stream SiriusXM on my phone and play over Bluetooth instead haha.

I did this for a while and it works just as well! I just live in an area with spotty reception, so I like having music when I don’t have service.

I been using my XM, it does cut a little, depending on the area. I have a ton of music on USB and my Apple and Prime library, so I can wait a bit.

Thanks, for setting this up.
