Picked up the ATV hitch rack from Harbor Freight. I like it because it is small and also has a riser so it sits up higher. $59
It just clears the 32 inch tires on the Black Diamond so would need an extender for larger tires.

What is the weight capacity of that rack and is there any "wobble" in the carrier?

Can you open the gate without taking the rack off?

You can- but only until the tire hits the outer bar. And of course you can't if you have any cargo on it.

Any updates on this setup? Seriously considering one of these as spring/summer approaches, for weekend trips with my family (wife, 2 kids) in our 2-door.

I have 255/85r16 (33”) tires installed on base rims and wondering if you think it would be possible to shoehorn one of these carriers on without an extension. What is the gap between your General Grabbers and the “elbow” of the basket in the photo above? Would need to be about 3/4” for this to work on my setup without an hitch extension. Really appreciate any additional info you can provide!

I highly recommend the Kuat V2 passenger side swing with any basket or bike rack.

Two things keep wobble to non existent which are the wedges built into the kuat itself to tighten it down and in my case my Rolo basket which has a wobble reducing attachment bolt.

I think your tire size would hit the rack. You would need an extension or the Kuat shown above.
