Nice to look at, but I'm over the cold.

It's supposed to be 81 on Christmas, I'm going surfing, then maybe sailing
Where is that?
I am in SW FL the high for Christmas is in the low 50’s. I can’t wait!

I am not a big off-roader, but for tires as "aired down" as shown in the first pic, they still look "fully inflated" in the 2nd pic.

Do the tires still look "normal" even when the PSI is down in the teens? I was thinking they would be bulging at the bottom a lot more with such low air pressure.

It always cracks me up watching the news and seeing 2 inches of snow in a southern state causes total chaos.

True Story, when i was stationed at Ft Benning Georgia they had a threat of snow, and the MP's were spreading salt on the bridges... salt that they took from the Dining Facilities :D

Years ago a friend of mine flew into Atlanta for work. She was stuck in a cab on the way to her hotel for 8 hours because it started to snow shortly before she landed.

So enlighten me. They look like squatch wheels but definitely not the Goodyear rock throwers. What tires are you running ?

In that first photo they are actually at 8 psi. The other photo, the compressor is running, and they are filling up with air. I took the photo of the instrument panel as they were airing up, wanted to capture the -20 temperature.

I like your icon picture. Is that you in the (South) Dakota Badlands? If you know good trails there, message me when you have a chance for helpful tips: trail guidebooks, your personal experience, clubs, etc.
Now that we know the Yokohama Geolanders perform well in heavy snow, can you give us a thumbnail review for their performance on unimproved roads, trails, cross country?

Thanks! That icon photo is actually in the North Dakota badlands, close to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park north unit. I was on a trail run with the Cliffhangers club which is based out of Williston, ND. This trail is on private land, unfortunately there isn’t a whole lot in ND for publicly accessible 4x4 trails. I will say that if you can get permission to run some of this stuff in the badlands, it is awesome. The weekend I was out with the Cliffhangers, they had two groups running a couple different sets of trails. I was running with the group doing the easier trails, and they were not easy. The other group was comprised of mainly full blown rock buggies.

Regarding the Yoko’s, I’ve only had them on a couple of months, and have not had them off-roading yet. They are awesome in deep snow, a bit sketchy on icy roads. I’m very happy with them on gravel. I installed them myself, with plans to bring them to a shop to have them balanced. I have not had to have them balanced, no shake, or shimmy, they roll great.

It’s cute when people talk about ‘cold’ winter weather and it’s above zero with maybe a slightly below zero wind hill. Will be -40-60 windchill with blizzard conditions from now until Saturday. We’ll see how the Bronco heater keeps up.
I was not enjoying the cold feet in the Bronco, but discovered if I turn off the dashboard vents, and turn up the temp all the way and the fan all the way, it's noisy but it gets the job done (-10 degrees with wind chill down to -30).

Let’s be fair to people from different climates. Our bodies sorta adapt to their environments. This is evident when it’s a sunny 55 degree day, and I’m wearing a flannel shirt with long pants, and weather refugees are laying out by the casino pools in bikinis. It’s also different when I make comments about a summer week when the highs hover around 105 being a “pretty nice week.” I also went to New Orleans one summer, and it was 80 w/ 80% humidity. Thought I was drowning.

Can you tell me more about your compressor setup?
