Well, I guess like many I’ll have to decide if I want to drop the 3 constrained options - in my case Sasquatch.

I currently have a BaseSquatch ordered.

If I drop the Squatch, I’m wondering how folks with a non - Squatch base have fared in snowy driving conditions.

Thanks

I lived in Denver and drove a 1985 RX-7. You'll be fine! Even non-sas Bases are incredibly capable.

It will come down to knowing when and how to shift between 2H and 4H vs allowing 4A to do it for you.

We bought our base non-Sas specifically to use it as a winter vehicle. Doesn’t hurt that it’s a summer toy too.

The problem with dropping it with the Base auto (don't know if you went auto), is not only are you going to open diffs, but you down to 3.73 gearing.

I'm in the same boat. I was thinking...add rear locker and get some 33s initially. Then down the road swap out the diffs with SAS diffs and 4.7 gearing. Add a small lift....change out suspension....wheels, 35s....and bamn...you have a SAS...maybe...

I am even thinking maybe go manual to get the 4.46 gears....add 33s....That has to be fun....

Upon picking up my non-Sasquatch Base Bronco from Granger around this time last year, I headed home straight thru a blizzard in Iowa and then Nebraska on my way back west. Admittedly not terrible accumulation of snow on the roads, but it did very well, even with stock tires!

I took my base home through the first nasty blizzard of the year. On stock tires. It was a beast and handled it with no drama at all.
When I got it home, I tried it out in my side "yard" more like a field with 14" of snow and it drove right through. It's brilliant really.

I think I’ve even heard that, in some situations, lockers and snow aren’t necessarily great together.

I have a Big Bend non-sas auto. It has been an absolute joy to drive in the snow. It’s turns drive in snow to be fun versus being stressful in other vehicles. Drive for the conditions and know when to use 4H.

All depends on what kinda snow. Had a Jeep with 35's lockers and really struggled on a day when a stock Yota on skinnys drove by without spinning a tire. Lockers didn't help. I ended up just stuffing 2 wheels in the ditch to find some traction. It worked.
