Did y'all see the video on BN that showed this? Basically, like an Austin Martin or something, when you grab the door handle, the window drops down outta the channel seal, and back in again when you close it.
Us Canadians gonna thing this will work for us? Lol
Window channel looks really shallow, so you could probably pull the door open if the window is frozen....
But closing it...?

Seen them in operation on Mustangs and Challengers at AutoMax. Kind of neat. Door closes then the window goes up. Maybe an 1/2 - 1 inch.

Maybe Ford stole the technology when they owned Aston Martin.

This is the way the Mustang is and many other cars that have a convertible model. Sometimes Ice would freeze and I couldn’t open the door. Just have to melt the ice first or not let it freeze there.

Had drop down windows on my Chrysler 200 hardtop convertible and I'm in North GA. They froze many times, but remote start was perfect for those mornings. No problem for me!

I had this function on my 2011 Challenger. It's cool and works great. No leaks on that one either.

Definitely gives me a bit of pause.

I took my truck to the car wash the other day and it was only after a long drive with the heat on that I could roll the windows down again.

My 2017 Mini Cooper S has frameless doors and does this. No issues. Even in harsh northeast winters. It’s never been an issue.
Same here (also in the NE) for the last few winters, with a 2018 Camaro

My 04 mini cooper had this as well. Only had issues after a good snow storm. Just had to scrape the window 100% before I opened the door. Otherwise no real issues with them. I prefer this to the Subaru style where the glass just rests against a seal.

Not a problem on my wife’s convertible Range Rover.
