Good morning, I couldn't help but ask if I understand you correctly about leaving them on your bumper full time. You shouldn't do this at all. I get that folks like to color match hard shackles to their rigs for aesthetics but if you are a serious wheeler you will understand the importance of having all of your recovery gear kept in on bag. If you leave these soft shackles on your bumper it's likely that they will degrade faster or disappear due to how easily they are to remove.
Anyway, I just thought Id help. BTW, clevis shackles should be stored in your bag as well.

I’m not sure whom this was geared toward. But correct hard shackles can stay on soft should never be left out in the uv for extended periods of time.

I definitely believe the frame mounts are safer than the bumper, I recently started following a company called MHI Offroad or Monster Hooks Inc. I seen them this past weekend at a soccer tournament in Temecula, they had a Bronco with completely different tow loops on the back of it, they looks ed amazing!!! I have yet to see them anywhere else, they did mention on their Instagram page a new Bronco part would be released soon, wondering if these are it. I don’t see them on the website
Coming out soon from Monster Hooks Inc

I carry one screw-pin Crosby shackle and a few soft shackles. Each have their place in recovery. I'm the "official" recovery person for Trail Hero and have performed hundreds of recoveries over the years. Record was around 30 winch recoveries in one day.

Be SURE your recovery gear is accessible....ie: within reach from the drivers seat. My winch controller, a tree saver and/or endless loop, a pair of leather gloves and a soft shackle are all handy...easy to hand out the window to a buddy to hook up.

The photo is from Trail Breaker 2023, using the WARN RC9 on my JHF Trail buggy to do an endo recovery of Steve Nantz. Three Raptor slings, and two soft shackles from JM Rigging were used.

Soft shackles are the best invention since sliced bread in my book. Hated lugging around those heavy and noisy d-ring shackles - always rattling. Soft shackles take up less room too - you can stuff them anywhere. Glove box. Tied to a molle panel. Under the seat. So no need to leave them connected (which is a bad idea anyway as the sun will eventually degrade them).

These guys have a good price on a full kit with shackles and kinetic rope…

How do we all feel about soft shackles? Are they decent work ok? Any huge downside to them. Since my dealer is still ā€œlooking into the matterā€ of replacing my left front recovery point that came without a hole. I really don’t want just one hard shackle. Chilling out front. Honestly not sure I care for them being there all the time anyway. So I came across soft shackles. I’ve never hear of them. They seem rated well wouldn’t rattle when stored in the back or take up much room. Any thoughts from the group?

Look into freedom ropes, was highly recommended by the Off Roadeo guides in New Hampshire. Www.freedomropes.com
