Few hundred miles from the big 36 and the soft top on my 21 month old Badlands has gone completely wonky. I recently moved from SW Florida back to the Windy City and apparently the top is protesting the move.

This top has always been really good, of course not the quietest thing on the block, but I’ve never had issues with water intrusion or wind excessive wind noise, and this thing has spent the vast majority of its life doing highway miles.

Now this. It was snowing here a few days ago and I noticed it getting in the top. I haven’t had the top back for months now. Get out and look and the passenger side has peeled away from the car and the ā€œloaded diaper sagā€ is really bad, way worse than it has ever been.

Still love the soft top, just hope this isn’ta sign to come. Any high mileage guys see this? Any fixes?

76k on my 2022 soft top wildtrak. No issues With mine.

btw I noted your comment on the enhanced road noise with the soft top. I added a Bimini top and then placed a sound insulating blanket between the Bimini and the underside of the soft top. Huge difference in both road noise reduction and thermal insulation. The blanket is advertised as a noise reduction curtain (or something like that) on Amazon.

good luck with your top!

Thanks. I’ve actually looked at the sound insulating Bimini, but I actually do like a bit of road noise. When I’m not listening to music or car talk, it allows me some time to think. Weird, I know.

Still under warranty? Take it in. It should last longer than that.

I bought the Turn off-road hardtop and now am Looking to sell my soft top if you can't resolve this with Ford. I'm In CA though.

I also had success reducing the noise by shoving a mattress between a soft top and the Bimini

I’m not sure what the difference should look like, as I went back to my pickup day back in 2022 and my top looks like yours. No issues at 40k. I do run a Dirtydog4x4 headliner for the winter months.

Come join the Chicagoland Broncos - we have a good group https://www.chicagolandbroncos.com/ that help each other out and have events.... @CarlSpackler

Is it just a visual thing? Sometimes the soft top if its been down a long time needs some time to flex back after being folded. Also notice the wavy windows go away as they get heated up on hot days...

Second winter with my DirtyDog, just put it on a few weeks ago. It makes a noticeable difference on the highway noise. Never gets cold enough here for me to care about insulation.

From WAY back, I remember being able to reach into the gap shown on the OP's picture and nearly get my whole hand inside - I actually tried that when I test drove a 4-door Badlands before mine showed up. I have a hard top, so not an issue for me, but for those I knew that preferred the Soft top, I wondered if water intrusion or just how 'secure' this was from getting an implement of some type inside to open the door.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's not really a 'new issue'.

The soft top hasn’t been opened since February. And I don’t mind the sagging, call me weird but I like that look. The issue is the passenger side lifted out of the rubber channel and now I have wind and snow coming in. Not a lot by any means, but I don’t want it to get worse.

So there is a new TSB on this issue, they found it this morning at the dealership and ordered the parts. This one might help the guys in that thread about the cables, which I’ll look for later.

But, correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t this ā€œfixā€ seem like something the drunk neighbor would think up after his 15th breakfast beer?

Seems like quite the process.
