Soft Top Pressure Points?

Has there been any issues with wear on soft tops? I noticed today that the metal hinge about 1/2 back (just behind rear door) puts a lot of pressure on the top, and is fairly "sharp". I believe its part of the retractable top hinge. It is not wrapped in plastic like the rest of the plastic. It seems to put a pressure point on the top that might wear over time.

I just checked mine. I have some lumpy looking protrusions in the soft top where the frame joints are located but there are no sharp points that I’m worried about wearing into the top material.

Is it possible your soft top is missing some plastic?

I supposed anything is possible...

It doesn't seem like there could be plastic on these hinges, they need to rotate to open the first portion of the top. I'll try to snap a picture

I have the same concern with my top. That point and the one directly above it are both sharp metal edges. I will probably wrap the edge with electrical tape? I'll let you know how it turns out.

Let me know what you end up doing. I haven't figured out if its normal (and I'm being overly concerned), or there is trim missing from the hinge...

Mine has the same thing. It's not particularly tight over it, but I can tell it's a fairly sharp edge touching the soft top which does seem that it would rub over time. Something to watch for, for sure.
