I have a new wild track I switched over to sport mode for first time today. The transfer case went into 4A, I need to make a tight u turn, I was under 2mph, on dry pavement. While I was turning I felt a vibration, it might have been coming from the trans or transfer case. Is this normal? Is this the transfer case switching between 2 wheel and 4 wheel drive? I didn't feel anything slipping.

If you will be turning in 4wd Auto, it can bind depending on how sharp the turn is. This is because the wheels on the same axle will rotate at different rates.

Here is why part time 4WD should not be used on pavement:

You can also switch back to 2H after going into sport mode to get around that

It seams strange that ford would create a drive mode that would cause this kind of problem. Wonder why they set it to 4A by default.
Thanks

4A is the equivalent of All Wheel Drive used extensively in passenger vehicles which transfers power, provides slippage so binding should not occur when turning. I have noticed mine feels a little different when I first engage Sport but then smooths out…

It's because it doesn't cause any problems when working properly.
