Spree's 2024 Cactus Grey Outer Banks "Project Fire Pony" a.k.a. @CatzillaBronco - In Progress

Hey Bronco Buddies,

Newbie alert! Just joined and loving this awesome forum! My wife and I are having a blast modding our new Outer Banks Bronco and wanted to share the saga with you all.

Here's the scoop: Once upon a time, we rocked a Chrysler Pacifica (gotta fit those three munchkins somehow) and I had a classic 911 for weekend thrills. But after a rough patch and a job loss in 2023, the 911 had to go. Sigh.. Fast forward to now—I'm back at work and craving some fun on four wheels.

Enter the Bronco. We spotted a cactus grey one on our way to check out a Dodge Charger Scat Pack and fell head over heels. The Bronco is now our one and only ride, doubling as a family-mobile and my mid-life crisis machine. It’s the perfect mix of practical and cool, and a great canvas for mods.

My wife, the artist, is jazzing up the interior with her skills, making it a family funhouse on wheels. We’re loving the journey of building it together and can't wait to show off what we've done.

Current Mods

Performance:
- Borla S-Type Dual Tips Axle Back Exhaust in Black (Lethal Performance)
- Roush Cold Air Intake (CJ Pony Parts)
- Boomba Blow off Valve adapter (Boomba)
- Method MR301 The Standard 17x8.5; +25mm offset wheels (same height/width wheels as the wheels on stock SaS and Wildtrak) offset on SaS stock wheels is +33mm. +25mm will have slightly more poke.
- General Grabber APTC LT265/70R17 - same size tire as on stock Black Diamond (TireRack). Can go up to 315/70R17 SaS tires on the Mehtod 17x8.5 wheels when lifted. Thats stock tires size on SaS lifted suspension.
- Running tires at 39psi which is recommended psi for stock Black Diamond tires also using LT265/70r/17 size tires.
- Black wheel lug nuts (Extreme Terrain)

Your painted seat logo's turned out really well. Did you paint those yourself? If so, nicely done. The stripe also looks really good. You will end up with a fantastic Bronco once all of your mods are complete. Keep us posted!

Hi John!

Thank you so much for the compliment on the seats and our build. This lil' project has really been an absolute blast for my wife and I. It's something we have been bonding over together. Last year was a really rough rough year and I ended up having to sell my fun car. This new Bronco has been exactly what we needed as it's a blast to drive and a blast to modify AND it also does a fine job as being our family car to haul around our three young kids. It checks off all the boxes and then some!

I will pass along to my wife your compliments regarding the painting of the bronco. Yes, she painting those and I agree, they look amazing! Really pop in person. We are really having fun with this build as our kids love vibrant colors. We know it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea but as long as we enjoy the process and journey it's all good!

Thank you Rob! Appreciate it. In terms of the red "R", I've read in past that it was used to pay homage to the Broncos racing in Baja 1000 race?
Don't quote me on it but that's what I vaguely remember. We did it because it ties into what we have planned color scheme wise for the build.
