Hi all!

Starting this thread to document the progress on my 2022 OBX 4 Dr Sasquatch.

For starters:
-Ordered Black Friday 2021, Built 10/24/22, took delivery 11/11/22
-'22 OBX Cactus/Roast, Sasquatch, Lux, 2.7, Hardtop, Modular Bumper, Aux Switches, etc.

The first handful of things I have planned are mainly for long-term protection and some minor asthetic stuff. More expensive upgrades to come once the sting of the purchase wears off, LOL.

As soon as I got it home:
-RTR Branded WeatherTech Mats + WeatherTech Cargo Mat
-Mabett Rear Seatback Covers
-TheOCDPlug matte screen protector
-Door Storage Pockets
-Paracord Grab Handles
-Front Mud Flaps
-GearAmerica Shackles w/ Isolators

Scheduled for this week:
-Full PPF
-Tint 20% Front / 70% Windshield
-Bronco Script badges to go on after PPF

In the pipeline:
- I bought a factory Wildtrak Grill and had it painted black because I'm not a fan of the OBX grill. Will be swapping the letters and installing that soon.
-Diode Dynamics pocket lights
-F150LEDs Amber Grill Lights
-Tailgate table

Stay tuned for more!

Awesome! Will be watching.

My build has gone pretty similar. Ordered my SAS OBX in Oct ‘21, built April ‘22. Velocity blue, roast but cloth and soft top because in Arizona and keep the top off most of the year. Leather gets too hot and cracked and dry, and MGV burns the skin. 2.7L, modular bumper, aux switches, high package cuz I plan to do my own audio upgrades.

Days after delivery I had done mats, cargo mats, soft top lift struts, hood struts, shackles, front mud flaps, grab handles, screen cover, all the small stuff.

Then PPF entire front, hood, mirrors and lower panels, Baja fogs, Bronco scripts…adding a tailgate table eventually. Garage door bags and soft top window bags hang in my garage for when I have top and/or doors off.

You're gonna love it. I grew up in a three generation owned Lincoln-Mercury dealership family and have driven pretty much everything. We had a new car at home pretty much every week. I have my fun fast little cars too, but this replaces Wranglers and 4Runners I’ve owned and has given me more smiles per mile than any of them!

UPDATE!:

I was able to finish swapping in my Wildtrak grill today. Looks so much better with the mesh pattern IMO as opposed to all the empty space in the OBX grill!

To me the stock OBX grille looks more classic, but yours looks good! I like the build and following along

She's in the shop this week getting tint and PPF! Very impressed with the work that LP Detailing does for those of you in Metro St. Louis.

UPDATE: She's back home from PPF and Tint, and looks fantastic. Do your research to find a shop that is well known for PPF installs, it makes all the difference in the final product.

This thing looks like the paint is still wet. 👌

Also, shoutout to @RTR Vehicles for their customer service.

Months ago, before my Bronco even had a build date, I ordered their WeatherTech front and rear mats and the rear mat I received was for a 2-door, which I didn't realize until I tried to install it. They bent the rules on their return policy and shipped me the correct rear mat for a 4 door. 👍

Could you explain the grill exchange purchase and all that was needed?
I plan to change my obx grill to the wildtrak grill once the bronco arrives. How was the letter process? Paint process? overall instillation?

Sorry, just seeing this as the chaos from the holidays winds down!

I purchased the Grille from a Ford Parts Direct Website and it was shipped to my house within a few days, which surprised me. I took it to my local body shop and they had it painted black and returned to me in a few days.

The grill is easy to remove, and there are a handful of tutorial videos on YouTube that show removal of the grill and the letters.

The letters was the most difficult part, but totally DIY-able. You have to drill them out from the back of the grill, then use an epoxy to secure them to your new grill.

Once I received the painted grill back from the body shop, I bet the whole uninstall/install letters/reinstall process took about an hour and a half including time to let the epoxy set.

Nice truck. I have identical model and color/options but High instead of Lux. Day 2 reservation, delivered March 2022, long wait. Weathertech mats all around. I added braided handle on passenger side. I installed Drawtite extended hitch. I installed Diode Dynamics pocket 3 light kit with fogs and used Panda motorworks harness. Diode harness has too much stuff on it. Wired to 3 Aux switches. I cleaned up rusty driveshafts (and whatever hardware i could access) and coated with rust converter and black semi gloss paint. I am prepping fuel tank and transfer case aluminum skid plates (with alodine /epoxy paint) from ASFIR Black Friday sale. I plan to fabricate a tailgate tray. The truck is a joy to drive.
i have been watching the winch options but am leaning toward something not sticking out so much.

Nice!! Diode Dynamics and Panda Motorworks are both in my back yard here in Metro St. Louis. I'm looking forward to adding the DD lights!

Ok does not sound as scary as it seemed lol. Thanks for the reply. What was like the total cost out the gate for everything?

It definitely wasn't cheap to go with the OEM part and have a body shop paint it vs trying to do it myself. I have about $800 in the whole grill project.
