So it sounds like the stealth box will only be for a shallow mount 10"? Can you please confirm? If so, that's a huge bummer..
My educated guess would be yes because of the small area footprint they are dealing with
It’s definitely a 10TW1 in the stealth box, the guy at JL Audio confirmed it, said they were test fitting last month and final approval last month as of March 15th. Said they were waiting for the production molds to be finished before they could begin production. As for the size of the woofer, I have a 12tw3 that I planned on putting in but the diameter is just a bit too large to hide it without any modifications to the panel. From my experience with stealth boxes they are mostly hidden away and sound great.
So basically we will see it released in Q3 or Q4 this year, lol. FWIW, I was told it was test fitting and final approval back in December 2022.
The
Yeah I was told they did that for the four door then and last month they had a two door in. Eric Cole is the guy I’ve been corresponding with at JL, he ended his last email with that it could be a bit still before they are released.
I can confirm that, we have the 4 door that was used in final fitting and testing and our friend from our Bronco group has the two door.

I bought this while waiting for my Bronco from Ford . . . are you saying it's not gonna fit? Will the stock head unit have enough power or will the speaker cables be the limiting factor? I really don't want to have to send it back, the shipping charges were killer!

You should be able to squeeze it in a 2 door. It will definitely fit in the 4 door. As far as power, you will only need 100W amp and some 18awg wire going to it. DO NOT play "Black Widow" with it turned up past 5.

Did they let you listen to it? Or were you there for it at least. Pretty cool either way. I’ve been a fan of JL only since the 90’s.

I destroyed a 15w3 with Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes.

It has been in my wife’s Bronco since mid-July. We love the system. Great bass response.

Why wouldn’t they design for the 10tw3 as well?

The TW1 can be in a smaller sealed box, so I bet that’s why they went with the TW1 and possibly for cost. Just an idea.

That sucks, a 10" TW1 in a Bronco won't be very loud

They've been using them in Jeeps for a while and everyone seems to think otherwise. That said, you can replace with a tw3 I'm sure but the tw1 is more cost effective for this purpose.
