I'm in moab and my driver side started clanking. You can feel it on the tie rod when turning back and forth. How dangerous is it to drive like that? I'm 1000 miles from home. And only halfway through my vacation 🙄
Hi there! Will you send us a message with your VIN and your local Ford dealer? I can look into things on my end.

I dropped by the Ford in moab. They are booked out till next week. He assured me it's prob a slightly wore inner tie rod and it should be OK to drive till I get back home.

@Travis9935 need to verify that it is worn not failed. If worn it's no big deal, just going to scrub off 5k miles of tire life on the way home.

Pull the boot and take a picture. Move the steering back and forth and the ball should be 2-3mm loose inside inside the socket. If plastic is coming out of the socket do not drive it in the highway.

Any mom and pop repair shop should be able to help you. Just ask if they can do an alignment!

I have the same turn signal cancel issue. Cancels right turn signal by turning on the left turn signal. I attributed it to turning the wheel too fast. Back in the day, these were plastic mechanical levers on the steering column. Not sure how they operate today. Currently at 2,500 miles.
I’m at 25k miles. No suspension mods. I still have a pending problem with clunk when releasing brake and sometimes the turn signal cancels all the way to the left when making a right turn( been to the dealer to have the last two “fix” already) . Any of that common with you?

That was my plan for today. But it's raining out here right now. I actually have a set of Icon tie rods as backups for my Hoss 3.0's for emergency. Just wasn't looking forward to doing them in the campground. I brought a jack just no jack stands.

Hi there, Russell! If you'd like to, go ahead and send us a private message with your VIN and dealer info and we’ll look into this turn signal concern. Thanks!

Following this. Mine also has a pop every now and then. It's not every turn though.

Ok, so I pulled the plastic boot back on mine. There's no play on the tie rod end itself, it's in the steering box. That's what's making the noise. Awesome, 3000 miles (1000 miles going to Moab) a couple times off roading and this already? My local dealer won't cover this. They'll blame the aftermarket suspension instead. The Moab dealer was super nice and said they would cover that.

Ever figure this out? I'm having the same issue.

By the time I drove home 1000 miles it went away and hasn't came back since. Sooooooo weird

Are you still noise free? I’ve got a WT with the Hoss 3.0/Raptor rack. I’ve recently started hearing this noise when turning left or right. I’m going to remove the SRQ skid and ensure that’s not it. Hopefully it’s not the rack…

My conclusion on this is that the pinion side has a very small bushing that wears out quickly, this causes deflection in the gear and the upper portion of the pinion on mine will move back and forth side to side a quarter inch. I have a solution in the works and will post it up soon enough.

When mine started I only had like 3k miles. And 2500 miles are all hwy. Luckily mine went away. Not even sure what caused it to start then stop
