Last week I noticed the steering resistance is occasionally inconsistent when unwinding from left hand turns at moderate speed (20-40MPH). The resistance goes up briefly then returns to normal. It is like something is binding or (if the Bronco had a traditional power steering pump) cavitating. I don't notice it on center (going straight) and I don't think I've noticed it turning right.

If the line is resistance, here is what I occasionally feel when unwinding from left: ______---______. When this occurs the wheel won't unwind on its own- it needs some force.

The BroncBuster products appear to be designed to address articulation issues/premature failure in the steering assembly for lifted/off-roaded Broncos. However, my Bronco is at stock non-SAS height and driven on-road. Currently at 6,000 miles.

Anybody experience anything like this?

No, not to my knowledge. It pulses when it goes off, doesn't it?
Make sure 4H is not engaged and from what I saw elsewhere the steering is dynamic based on Mode it can change.

Hey there! I can look into your Bronco’s steering concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

I was contacted by Ford awhile back to assist with scheduling service but I have been unable to get the vehicle in. Them diagnosing it will be another issue entirely.

I had an appointment for my hard top and they had a rental available so they will look at it. Once I get more info I’ll let you.

No. In fact, it seems to take a certain combination of steering input, vehicle speed, and throttle to manifest and I haven't figured it out. My daily commute doesn't cause it typically. However, during my road in early October a 40 mph winding road caused it repeatedly.

My suspicion is the issue is either:
  • Mechanical wear/defect relating to one of the various issues BroncBuster has identified
  • A software issue causing the electronic power steering to misapply boosting.
It feels like mechanical binding. But it hasn't gotten worse so maybe it is a bug in the software.

Any update on the issue you are experiencing? I seem to be having the same issue on my '22 OBX non-SAS. TIA

No updates on this yet; hopefully soon. I'm due for some service so I will be rolling my concerns into that appointment.

I have noted this on my '22 BL as well. It's just a weird sort of resistance to self-centering in a turn. It's not bothersome but I do notice it every now and then. My wife never notices it but I do so it's very subtile. At first I thought it was related to being in 4A but it does it in 2H as well.
