Although that is definitely a contributing factor, I disagree that it’s more so than the IFS. If both front tires have traction (weighted contact with the rocks), it’s simply easier to climb ledges (with or without a front locker). I’ve wheeled most of the Moab trails with IFS and SFA rigs. When it comes to rock crawling, an SFA performs (flex) better so you can get away with fewer mods like a front locker.
Although SFA has the flex, don't forget that the SFA has less weight pushing down on the front tires. SFA has sprung weight and has a harder time keeping downward pressure to the ground than an IFS vehicle. Used to have an FJ among Jeep enthusiast as friends. Ascending a steep dirt hill from a deep stop the rubicons would lose traction causing the SFA to bounce a bit. With momentum, they could climb the hill with no problem. The swaybar is connected in the video. For that Obstacle Bronco all the way. I would need a bigger rock garden before I picked a heavily modified jeep. IMHO

Great point! If I wasn’t confident that the new Bronco can perform in this type of terrain, I would not have ordered one. However, I’m sure there will be the rare occasions that I’ll miss my XJ’s awesome wheel travel and flex.

Healy just posted this photo sequence. I would say this used the front locker as well.
