I'll try to be as Detailed as I can be so it will probably be a Long post

I purchased my Bronco (2022 Model Year) in June 2023. After a while I noticed I haven't received a single software update for it. Even after enabling the automatic software updates On and turning on the scheduled installs.

(Side note: It seems my Bronco sat unsold at the dealer Lot for a good time, at least 6 months Plus)

I new something was definitely wrong when I noticed that even with the automatic updates On in the Bronco, the updates appear to be turned off if checked via the Fordpass app.

I'm running Software Version: 22082_PRODUCT Revision: 411

I have tried both a System Reset and a Factory Reset with no luck.

Last year, The generous soul rugedraw ran my Vin and saw a few updates pending for my truck, He also made me aware that since my Bronco sat for a long time at the dealer that might have something to do with the lack of updates. Its been 6 months from this, and Year and a Half after purchasing the Bronco and there is still no updates for me.

Part of the solution I heard for this was updating SYNC via FDRS, so this week I left my Bronco at my dealership, explained the issue and they promised to take a look.

The dealer later that day told me Sync updates are performed via a software called OASIS, and since OASIS showed no updates available to my Bronco they couldn't perform any.

Is the tech that serviced my Bronco missing something?
What is my next option?
has someone here been in a similar situation and found a solution?

Thanks.

Are you located in Puerto Rico? Other's located outside North America have reported sync update issues. There was some question if sync OTA updates are available over seas. @Ducati1098 or @flip may be able to shed some light on Oasis and FDRS.

OASIS is the web portal dealers use to see information about your vehicle, including any pending OTA update. This is likely the system @rugedraw used.

There are many modules in your Bronco that could have successfully received updates that will not be reflected at all on the version number you see in SYNC. As far as I know that version number you see in SYNC only gets updated when SYNC itself on the APIM is updated.

But either way, it's tracked in OASIS. You'd need to have a dealer employee plug in your VIN into OASIS to see if those pending updates were applied.

Yes, I'm located in Puerto Rico, but every other fellow Bronco owner from Puerto Rico I have talked to confirmed to me they are receiving OTA updated with no issues.

You aren't missing out on anything really.
I mean... There are some Quality of life improvements, like the one that rolls the windows down a little upon unlock so doors open easier and the one that improved the audio quality.

But at the end of the day it is a feature that's part of the Bronco and I want 100% of it Working as expected.

We've had a few vehicles (SILs Lincoln still not working) that have no history of an OTA, vehicle and phone settings all good with no pending or background codes either in VHR or when hooked up. I have theories based on casual conversations with my FSE which point to issues on Ford's end or some bs module problem in the vehicle.

If I had a dolla for every software/OTA/SYNC problem that's come through here in the last year I'd buy FoMoCo and fire everyone involved with the OTA group.

This is where my Bronco was On August 2024 when @rugedraw looked at my VIN:

Apparently with no OTA history also. So maybe I'm one of those cases you have also seen.

Yeah it still looks the same as the picture you posted above.
It doesn't show any APIM update available. Sometimes other modules needs to be updated before it will show one available, but not sure if that's the case here or not.

There have been some updates since it was new but can't say if that was OTA/Wi-Fi or if a dealer did them during the course of some other repairs.

One other thing to try is connecting your vehicle to a wi-fi network (house/work) to give the modem another option beside the cell network.

@solracarevir This is exactly it. There are certain modules that must be updated in sequence. With FDRS, these are the modules that are done with a USB drive. The APIM, GWM TCU (and up to an extent, the IPC) have to be installed sequentially. Once the GWM update you show pending gets done, it will release the next update in the sequence (APIM or TCU) and once the next one is done, it will release another one and so on until you are up to date. As far behind as your truck is (Sync 22082 is from the 82nd day of 2022), you would need several APIM, GWM & TCU updates installed (possibly an IPC update or two, as well) before you truck is fully updated in terms of the sync modules.

In terms of all the other ancillary modules, you do not show many pending updates; just some door modules, the ACM, PCM and the AWD module. In terms of connectivity, your truck is talking and reporting itself to Ford's servers just fine. Just seems like the OTA gods don't like you.
