Tailgate not opening

Any chance your doors are off? Mine locks and will not open if I am running around with doors off. Once I hit the unlock on the fob it will open.

I went inside took the black cover off near the lock, moved somethings around with a screwdriver, just poking around...and now it works...I oiled it up, see what happens, could be the electric lock, I hear it but maybe not right...Thanks for the reply.
