Another option: the Trailgater.

Checks the box for 1, 2, and 3. Kinda/sorta also does 4. Rather than a shelf it uses a magnetic strip you can use to bolt utensils, tools, etc. as well as a slide-out cutting surface. I actually prefer it over having a shelf as proves an overall larger work surface that's easier to access.

The downside?? It's pricey and doesn't check the box for #5. But it's easily in my top 3 favorite accessories, and by far the accessory I use the most on an everyday basis. I got a video on it if you want to get a better feel for it.
Thanks - I have read quite a few great reviews on this option. Does the pull out cutting board easily come all the way out for a more thorough cleaning when/if used?

I've done the search and review of various threads on here, as well as looking at various manufactures but haven't found exactly what I think I'm looking for. So - I thought I would post my features in a thread and see if anyone knew of something that would fit most of what I'd like.

  1. Quiet when folded and when driving (e.g. no rattles)
  2. Solid, easy to clean main work surface when folded down (versus molle panel surface)
  3. Easy to put away (e.g. if a cable design, not having to hold them in place so they are enclosed and protected when in a folded position - I don't what my dogs or other items in the back to catch exposed cables when table to stored away).
  4. A 2nd top shelf is preferred, but not mandatory - and okay if that is a molle panel design
  5. When in the closed position, I would like usable molle panels for smaller item use - note that I would prefer that mounted items not have be to removed when I want to use the table as a table

The JCR offering ticks the boxes for 1, 2, 5, and most likely 3 from the videos I've seen. But it's a smaller work surface.

I like a lot about what I see in the Broaddict (AIG) offering - other than only part of the molle panel in the stored position is usable if you don't want to remove items when you need to use it. This seems to tick the boxes for 1, 2, 3, 4 and some of 5.

I like the Front Runner offering in how they designed the additional pull out wood panel - but I don't like that the wood panel is exposed when in the stored position. This seems to tick the boxes for 1, 2 and 3 - but provides a lot of work surface when needed. Similar offering from Goose and Outback Adventure.

The perfect blend would be the pull out extension, but sandwiched between a molle panel and the working table surface so that when stored, the molle is usable, and when in use, you have the solid main surface, and optional additional if/when needed.

Throw at me other options to look at that tackle the list of features I'd like.
The @BROADDICT table is solid. Quiet. Tucks away nicely. Good storage. IAG started selling their own rebranded one too, but they want a bit more coin for it. Install was easy, but it's easier if you have a second set of hands for help.

I have the jcr. Solid. Watch the install vids. It a no drill install, but u have to remove the spare tire. But it’s 2 solid braces inside the tailgate, not just pop in pieces. As for the second shelf, better that way imo as crap from stove not splashing up onto 2nd shelf.
Some of the reviews comment on missing the depth of the work surface with this option - has that been an issue? Do the wire supports tuck behind the work surface when closed, or are they out? Any rattling when stored?

The wires are closed tight inbetween the table and back section. I don’t notice them rattling, but idk. Got the radio going or top off.

Here’s a couple pics. Open a bit, and almost closed.

I can concur, I installed the BroAddict table and it is solid. The surface area of the table when fully extended is almost to much but you can fold half of it in on itself which is nice. I use mine for fishing (not cleaning fish), it’s nice having a big surface to hold my tackle and change set ups instead of doing it from the back of my Bronco. I had the Rough Country one on my last Bronco and it was terrible. Plus you had to drill holes and there was several times where it started working its way loose no matter what I did.

My only complaint about this one is the hardware to install it. Half of it didn’t even look like it should come with the table. The washers were 5 different sizes and didn’t match to the subpar instructions they sent with it. I ended up watching a couple YouTube videos of others installing it to make sure I was doing it right. I ended up breaking out my extensive nuts, bolts and washer collection and found what I needed.

As Rusty said, having 2 hands to install will make things easier. My 2 teen daughters had zero interest in helping so I managed by myself. Most painful part was lining up all the bolts to the point you can tighten them before mounting the table. I took measurements from center of the holes on both top and bottom and adjusted the bolts accordingly for a perfect fit. What took the longest was figuring out which hardware to use. If I had everything it should have taken less than 30 minutes.

Overall I am happy. I am sure if I would have messaged BroAddict they would have sent me new hardware but I am way to impatient for that.

My one complaint on the Broaddict table is something purely my own fault. If you don't have the table extension properly secured, beware. I wasn't careful and it completely swung down and hit me right in the nuts.

I checked out the install - it seems a bit intimidating. I reached out to JCR to see if they install (I'm a little over an hour from their shop), and they replied that they don't, but referred me to an mechanic shop a bit closer. I've had work done at the shop they suggested before, shortly after I got my Bronco and now after I've done some of my own mods, realize that the work I paid them to do not only took way longer than it should have - but was not my wisest investment to have someone else do (I've since had to replace a failed part under warranty they installed and definitely not something I needed to hire someone for). I'm not saying they are a bad shop, just saying that it probably makes more sense to use them for the the type of mods they do day in and day out versus one off items that you pay for their learning curve in their hourly rate. They also charge a higher hourly rate if you source the product versus them - and I can usually find better product pricing via BroncoNation or other discount codes.

I also have a tailgate re-enforcement panel with an accessory arm and traction board mount, so taking all of that off also adds to the complexity of this install.

It is harder than other tailgate tables that just bolt into the slots but it’s easy step-by-step and completely possible. I did mine myself.

Go with the Goose-Gear. No 2nd level and no molle panels but this thing is SOLID. It doesn't move AT ALL when closed. Has a built in cutting board and made in america

Ya know the saying. You get what you pay for. This thing is SOLID. Not flimsy at all. Does not rattle. Made with quality materials.

I went with the broaddict.

Relatively cheap. Solid when deployed. But I did have to tighten the nuts after a couple weeks. I plan on lock tite when I get around to it

I have the Broaddict and have been perfectly happy with it . Easy to install (I have a video on YT) and everything folds against rubber spacers so it has been rattle free over the roughest roads. I did have to tighten all the bolts before I installed as they seemed to be just hand tight from the factory but that was easy enough. Mine gets more use when I'm at the RC flying field as that's where I put everything I'm getting ready to fly or repair. For the $$$ I don't think it can be beat.
