I was thinking of this but then it removed one of the major selling points to me over the Jeep, no bars over my head.
I understand, I was thinking clamp on so it can be removed for the “open air” feel... but for those times like the OP was looking for that they wanted the front panels only. Say a smaller 1” square tube that can be stored in the back, maybe even folding or telescoping to save space.

I’m pretty sure the answer is “no,” but is it possible to use only the two front panels of the 2-door hard top, without the back section?
I keep seeing No, 4dr as well, but then you Broncos riding around like this:

Fords stance seemed to be for “highway driving”, I’m certain it would be fine just crawling around where wind speed wouldn’t be a factor.

Yeah I think I remember reading that you're good as as you stay under 40. Offroad. Mall crawling. Beer run. I think it's all good.

The problem is that the mid-panel has only two hard connection points (one on each side) near the front of the panel, correct? When the rear section is removed there are three points that aren't locked down to anything. We need to figure out a way to clamp the back of the mid-panel to the roll bar?

Yeah, some sort of clamp or locking mechanism behind the 2nd panel. Seems like it would be easy enough for aftermarket...

Thank you for the insight. I used to have a Wrangler with a soft top as a daily driver. Pulled the carpet and lined the floors. If it was going to rain, I put the door windows on and top up. But never had a bikini top. Mississippi sun/heat with no cover up front in summer is brutal when you don’t want to show up at work soaked in sweat, but would be nice to not have the whole top on.
