What’s up everyone! I keep seeing people air down to 8 PSI for basic gravel trails, while others refuse to go below 25 PSI out of fear of popping a bead.

Here is how I look at the spectrum:
- 20–25 PSI (The "Scared of Airing Down" Zone): Good for high-speed dirt roads or fire trails, but you’re sacrificing a ton of traction and getting shaken to death over washboards.
- 12–15 PSI (The Goldilocks Zone): This is where the magic happens. You get a massive contact patch for rocks and mud, a noticeably smoother ride, and you're still completely safe from burping a bead on standard wheels.
- Under 10 PSI (Beadlock Territory): Unless you're running true beadlocks or crawling extreme vertical granite, dropping this low on standard wheels is just begging for a flat sidewall or a derailed bead mid-trail.
