My fellow off roaders...

Any recommendations on a tire cleaner that works on mud stained side walls?

Many cleaners and coatings out there and looking for 1st hand experience.

A few sounded interesting but they also pricey. Thanks

i just pressure washer them at the drive through car wash and call it good.

I have read that simple green works well, but no idea if it’s chemical comp is appropriate long term use on tires.

Good old fashioned Comet cleanser with a scrub brush. Now I realize it takes a bit of manual labor while using the scrub brush, and it is low tech, so it may not be for the modern day vehicle owner.

Why not dish detergent like Dawn or Palmolive? That does a good enough job for me if I want them really clean. Otherwise, what the car wash does is good enough.

I have always used simple green or fast orange to get tough stuff off of tires and suspension parts. I used chemical guys VRP mixed 50/50 with water afterward to help restore the nice rich black look without looking "wet". The VRP doesn't sling off of the tires like some other things I have tried in the past.

Simple green, dish soap, or castrol super clean. All 3 do a excellent job cleaning. All 3 enhance tire grip, spray and wash the treads too.

Those are the 3 I’ve always used.

Am I the only one who still uses SOS steel wool soap pads to get tires really clean? I do it a few times per year, more if the tires have white letters. On a regular weekly wash I just use a scrub brush with some carwash soap.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll check it out....

FYI, some of you are funny... car wash? Tried once, with the spare tire, light bars and bumper install. Much of the truck is still dirty, it misses a lot!

No car washes for me...😫

You probably are the only one.

The number one reason that I bought my Bronco was to go get it dirty. My sidewalls are as likely to look like the ones below as to ever be sparkly clean.
