To Blackout or not to Blackout my Wildtrak grill

I was playing with the blacked out grill look yesterday:

I looked at the letter covers from Ford, but I wasn't sure about the matte black that Ford sells on the glossy Wildtrak grill, and I didn't want to spend $110 to find out, so I ended up ordering some glossy black caps from Amazon for $25. Returnable or disposable if I don't like them.

If you like the black on black, you can get the Oracle light up letters. Give it more definition. Personally, I like a little more contrast so black on black may be just too dark to notice the letters

The glossy black letter covers should arrive today. I will pop them on without the full adhesive and see if I like it, or if I want to go to matte black, or something different, or just leave them white.

my letters arrive on Wednesday. I'll get'em "painted" and stuck on and post an update. The hyper dip product specifies to do the work in a <50% humidity environment so may take a few days for weather to cool off to get this done.

They do look good. I wonder if those letters are glossy or matte.

Are they caps or just stickers sitting on top of the white letters?

These are the Oracle back lit black letters. They are a matte finish with a white back light. Here they are lit up:

It's very subtle. I leave the letter lights on all the time.

I originally had planned to swap in a Badlands Grill, but grew to like the glossy black grill. (matches the mirrors, and other accents (2021))

I took mine slightly different after applying flat black to the grill, I took the black letters and overlaid the white.

My letter covers arrived. I bought both matte and glossy black letters. Two different vendors on Amazon, but they were the exact same inside including instruction sheet.

Looks really dark in the photo, but you can make out the letters better in person.

I personally love it but like someone said, with the silver bash plate and tow hooks it doesn’t look as good. Also your bronco is white right, it looks nice with the white letters. If I could’ve ordered some paint matched hot pepper red ones without having to paint them or have someone paint them I might have went that route, you get it stock
