I live in the north east and I wouldn’t. Just run it through a car wash a couple times a month when it’s snowy that has an underside sprayer and then take some time in the spring and summer to really go over the underside looking for those areas where crap will build up.

You can but I honestly don’t know if the juice is worth the squeeze. I had a truck for 22 years and all I ever did was just make sure I kept it reasonably clean. To each there own though. There was big red after 22 years.

Fluid Film and WD40 Specialist Corrosion Protection if you want a non-permanent solution that you can clean off if you so desire, but needs to be maintained.
Cosmoline if you want a more permanent solution that actually works, unlike the rubbery coatings.

Why not just keep her clean, wash away salt from underbody weekly, twice a week touch less high power wash... thats my go too.

Living in FL I will not be undercoating, but my EB had it from the original owner. I went through the arduous task of removing it decades later. All I can say is - it did its job!

I live in Maine and with my last new vehicle I started preventively having one or two coats of Fluid Film applied each year. I’ll do this with everything I drive from now on. I think Mainers should just plan on this cost, just like registering a vehicle. Costs about $100 each time, depending on the place, and unless you do it yourself. It’s worth it to me, and better than a permanent coating of something that could trap stuff against the steel.
