Toyota Tacoma .. issues

I love my 4runner just wish it came with a six speed. The dated auto and tiny infotainment are my only complaints. That and the steps that scrape on everything in the rocks…

I still really don’t understand this. You think the Tacoma interior is out dated compared to the Bronco? I think they’re actually wicked similar.

Watched Nate’s video on this when it came out. The outdated tech issue is one thing, but he has a real point with some of the issues he’s had; and his points align with some of the issues friends have had with Tacoma’s as well. The “Toyota reliability” thing has just become an internet trope that even anti-Toyota comments have to get out of the way before they make their point and I don’t think Toyota necessarily deserves that title anymore. Not saying they’re not good vehicles, just not infallible like many would suggest.

ROW market Toyota’s are a bit of a different story and where the brand earned that reputation IMO.

OT I think Nate has a Bronco order. Can’t wait to see what he does with it.

I loved my Taco. Squeaky leaf springs, rusty frame, horrible gas mileage and all. The one thing that got me was as I got older it was just so damned uncomfortable to drive very far at all. The flat, legs straight out seating position killed me!

That 12” is only select high end models, and that’s IF they can meet demand.

I own a 06 4L V6 Taco and i have nothing but praise for it ...... i will buy and use my Bronco but keep the Taco .... I have about $2G of updates in it and don't plan anything more .... I know way after I'm done with my Bronco the Taco will still be running strong.

I don't think Toyota is too worried, I think Toyota's market cap is about $253b, Ford's is about $59b. Also, I was wrong saying my 17' Tacoma has been depreciating about $2k a year, it's probably closer to $1500 a year or less. We'll see what the Bronco's annual depreciation is. I already know the Bronco's build quality won't be anything close.

No, wasn’t Lux trim allegedly a commodity constraint? Either way the point is the 12” screen isn’t available on half the models, so it’s an unfair comparison. Most Broncos have an 8” screen with Apple carplay and no CD player. The Tacoma has essentially the exact head unit.
