Toyota could have done great if they had built the FJ with a removable top and doors in the beginning...that said, I highly doubt they re-release an FJ. They were selling less than 15k annually when it got cancelled. Hopefully one day the release a removable top body on frame 4x4 that takes care of some of the FJ flaws....but I doubt it. If so, it's a long way off.

Oh no! I just bought a 4Runner TRD Pro Should be interesting, but if the Trailhnter is a revised FJ then I will not be tempted because so far the 4Runner is ticking all the boxes for me in actual use. Great to have some competition though.

Hunting horses is just wrong. I'm sorry I know yall are a bunch of toyota lovers on here. I really dont get it. Living in Hawaii our islands are lousy with toyotas. Its not that I just dislike their looks, or their engines. I occasionally have been forced to ride, drive, or work out of em. Inside or behind the wheel its just all wrong. Nothing is convienent, I simply dont fit in em. Seats arent comfortable and every thing seems well polished cheapness. Not to mention I have towed 2 late model tacomas back to the farm after their owners called me for help getting em off the road so nobody steals their parts. Sure maybe in the 70s and 80s they knew how to copy a CJ real well and improve on it and they made a pretty nice small truck with decent axles. But everything after that has been a compromise to try and compete in american markets and they just havent made anything good. Maybe in other markets they sell better stuff. I have heard stories. But not in the US. Sorry yall. I might put toyota in my top 20 manufacturers list maybe.

As I mentioned in another thread a few days back, it was all hush hush at dealers that some sort of FJ revival was in the works.....so this is likely it. 2023 is a bit of a shock. So might have a Bronco for sale in a couple years!

Sorry I dont get the hype. Toyota in general appear weak and every time I'm asked to work on em, I find alot of things to be a pain in the ass.

Just now changed a tire on a toyota minivan. To lower the tire from inside you need a five pointed socket. WTF? I used vice grips. Its the little cuts that can be the most annoying.

I saw a YouTube video about this last week, could have been the video others posted above. They didn’t know what it was either, only that Toyota filed a patent for “trail hunter”. They were speculating that I could be the return of the FJ Cruiser maybe or like a performance type model pkg for Toyota like the raptor.
