...also risks flat spotting the tire I would think!I would also caution against using it too much, and in anything but the loosest ground. There have been a few have their axles damaged.
We got to try it out at the Nevada Off-Rodeo. It was very cool, but sadly does not work on the 7-speed, only the automatic.Interestingly, this was the only hero switch that they didn’t/wouldn’t go over at off-roadeo Tennessee.
I believe you want SWITCH first, then turn wheel. I used it yesterday when we were out on a trail ride.I need a little help here as I may be engaging the trail turn assist at the wrong time.
Twice, while traveling up a trail and encountering locked gates, I have attempted to engage trail turn assist. Both times I heard loud mechanical noises coming from the driver’s side engine compartment and immediately turned trail turn assist off. Fortunately, the Bronco can maneuver in small spaces and was able to "K" turn out and no back a mile or so down a hill.
Both times I was in 4-hi and the steering wheel was cranked to the extreme, once left, once right when I engaged it.
Any thoughts?
Correct. There really is no harm in leaving the hero switch on. It will only engage with the hero switch on AND the steering wheel at full lock.I believe you want SWITCH first, then turn wheel. I used it yesterday when we were out on a trail ride.
Hill climb area with a tiny turn area at the top. Engaged the switch at the bottom of the hill, gunned it to the top, turned the wheel and it activated and then came back down.
You're only supposed to use it on loose dirt. I don't see how that would cause any measurable tire wear....also risks flat spotting the tire I would think!

I tried Trail Turn Assist a couple of times when my Bronco was still new and determined that it is a feature that I don't need and will never use. Besides the weird noises, it tends to tear up the roads or trails that you are on. It also only cuts the turning diameter by four to six feet, so not a huge amount. My 2-door can easily make most of the tightest turns that I've encountered. And in the rare case where it can't, like needing to make a U-turn on a narrow road, TTA isn't really going to help anyway.
I guess TTA belongs in that other thread about Bronco features that you don't use.
