Turbo blow off valve installed on 2.7

Completely pointless mod but it sounds amazing. I installed a $30 eBay blow off valve on my 2.7 turbo WildTrak and all it does it allows all the excess air blow off externally giving it the nice sound we all know and love from turbo vehicles. That’s why I spent $5 doing the same thing by just disconnecting the hose and capping it and venting the blowoff to open air. Spent the other $25 on dinner so I guess it’s a meaningful win/win

We did the hose trick on ours. My wife loves it, I have to admit it makes me giggle too. Now with the intake you can hear the air sucking in and then blowing out. Poor thing sounds like she has a cold.

Interesting opinions. I actually have a Turbosmart dual valve. I bought it knowing that when I tuned the Bronco, and add the parts I have, it would have a higher boost level. The Turbosmart helps control that at higher boost levels. Much more efficient than the stock one. The added bonus is that you hear the air vent, that's if you get a dual valve of course. You can always get one that plumbs back into the system as well which is the way the stock one is setup.

There are many different working parts for turbo applications some may seem like a waste but all of it is made to work together to make the system more efficient.

This forum needs a "blow off" valve sometimes...

I like BOV sound when it is short and sharp. With the turbo surge/flutter it would be most ideal.
Unfortunately the boost from the 2.7 is not high enough to achieve the desired effect.

I think once you get a cold air intake, and get a mild tune on the engine would sounds great.

I will second this because I have it! Yes it sounds great and now that I added sport mode....Oh, man. It's a blast to drive!

While that may be true, it would sound horrendous. Would have to be closed circuit like OEM 2.7 or no one would use b6g anymore
