So, bad news, was just notified I'm going to be laid off end of june. I still dont have a build date. Can I ask my dealer to "Priority 99" my order ? That way I keep my reservation but delay a build date. I expect to be employed soon after. But you never know.

You can ask. If they say no, add painted top and PPF to your order. That should in effect do the same thing.

ask your dealer, the scuttlebutt going around is that dealers cannot code 99 (or take it off 99) at the current time, Ford has that option locked out. I would try dealer and then try calling Ford, but from the stories floating around, you may be stuck with leaving it as is. Good Luck with the job hunt!

Update:. Good news I just accepted a job offer at 30% more than I was earning and i have a 8/8 build date. So 4th down convertion and a touchdown!

I went through the threat of a layoff in 2021. The dealer had to get the Ford regional rep to change the priority code, but it can be done.

There is no option to '99 your order. The only way would be to manipulate the order so that it is outside of the dealer's allocation. i.e. if your dealer is allocated 5 WT for the rest of the year, you could change your order to a WT that won't be scheduled due to the allocation. But such a tactic is no guarantee.

Your current order can be cancelled and then reorder when the timing suits you. Or roll the dice that your current order may not get scheduled buying the delay that you seek. You'll lose any price protection for next year so it doesn't matter if you cancel now or roll the dice that your order isn't scheduled.

On the chance that you are scheduled for MY'23, you'll at least have the price protection from whenever you originally ordered. Your circumstances may change by the time it is picked for scheduling/build/delivery. I would just let it ride and hope for a few months delay yet still sneaking in at the end of MY'23 builds.
