There's an unused connector C9531 inside the overhead console. It's 12 V and connected to a 5A fuse. I'd like to hook something to it, does anyone know the Ford part number for a mating connector so I can do a clean job?

It's labeled USB charge port overhead console. I think it's a 4 pin connector, but it may have four pins. I guess Ford expected to connect it to a USB module but didn't follow through.

See if this helps.
Thanks! Not for a Bronco (wrong fuse number) but it is the connector I'm looking for. Even the wire colors match. I assume this will plug into the wiring harness? Or is it this pigtail part of the harness? I'm wondering if this plugs into a device such as the USB port or the EATC temperature sensor. If so, I need the mate to this connector.

edit: For those following this. Molex specifies three polarities for this connector. Ford appears to use polarization "A." Also don't worry about the Xmass tree attachment for this use. Xmass tree refers to how the connector housing mounts to a panel.

WPT-982 is the replacement Motorcraft pigtail harness should you ever need to replace the connector on the factory harness.

Ford/Motorcraft doesn't make a male version of the pigtail kit, so you'll have to buy the connector and create your own custom harness to adapt it to whatever you're looking to do. That connector is part of the Molex 31068 series and there is both a female version (already on the factory harness) and a male version of that connector. So you just have to buy the male version to create whatever harness you need, and you'll be good to go. 👍

Thanks! Thats what I figured. I found the housing on Mouser and Newark. Taking a break then I'll find the pins.

Again FYI for those following this. You have to order the pins/connectors and housing separately. The challenge is finding someone who'll sell a small number.

edit: found everything I need on Newark for $10 including shipping. Yeah!

I can order one connector from Mouser. But it seems the only way I can avoid buy several hundred pins is to buy Ford's EU2Z-14421-AA terminal kit which comes with 5 pins. However Ford has established a minimum of five kits. Someone on Ebay is selling one kit at a time with $10 shipping. Still searching.

I may end up buying several of the connectors and a few kits so I can offer pigtails to others on here and recover some of my cost.

Do it!!

I paid for college books by buying thousands of connectors/pins and then reselling them on eBay. Ultra boring and very monotonous work, but it worked. By junior year I was selling kits with wiring pre-attached. Didn't even have to buy the wiring... just took the used wiring that came from the electronics lab (I was an electrical engineering student).

If you walked into my apartment near the peak you'd think I was a drug dealer by how many tiny ziplock bags I had scattered all over the place.

Where is the connector located exactly? I did not know this was there. Thanks!

Build it and they will come. I for one would be interested in getting a pre-made USB port to install up there. Currently run my dashcam cable mashed under the window trim to the dashboard center plug. Would love to clean up that mess and free up that plug.

This seems like the perfect option for folks wanting something like a dash cam… unless I am missing something. Awesome!

I had wondered if the connector was there, only saw it referred to in drawings. Then I was watching a video where someone adding wiring an they pointed it out.

I'll take a photo once I do my install.

Were you able to get this working?
