Let's confirm it for you. It's for the lane-keeping for sure. I don't know what else it's used for, but most vehicles now use two cameras, one in the mirror and one down on the grill. See under: why you can't mount a front plate there.

I know, off topic. But, it wouldn't be a B6g thread if it didn't go off topic. Now that we know what the "BOX" is for, can anyone tell me exactly what the louvers/shutters are for? I have an idea, but my ideas are usually wrong. Just ask the wife. lol

Here is a closeup of the box, it houses the radar sensor for adaptive cruise control and emergency braking.

Serious question though, since my Bronco is coming with standard pkg (no copilot stuff) would I be able to mount the front licence plate in front of this? I’d rather drill holes in the mod bumper rather than where Ford decided to put it. Or is in not smart to block the intercooler?

The louvers/shutters in my pic in the open position. So it opens and close to regulate airflow to the Inter-cooler

BTW .. on my Raptor it is huge and you can remove it if you wish. It does not affect the trucks operation. There is 1 small item to account for is that there is a motor that you have to keep plugged in or you will get a warning.

I don't know how it is setup on the Bronco BUT it looks very shallow and I think most guys will remove it so you can run a bigger inter cooler.

That box is a survival kit it contains 3 pieces of beef jerky and a strawberry nehi in case of breakdown far from civilization ,guaranteed to happen with that mess of an engine bay.

No. The box is standard because automatic emergency braking is standard. The same radar used for adaptive cruise control is also used for emergency braking. The camera in the windshield by the mirror is for lane keep assist, which is on mid package and above.
