I got a hitch basket for our upcoming road trip. Problem is, when in reverse, the sensors beep like mad all the time now with the basket on. I've tried disabling all the setting in the menus, and they don't do squat. Every time in reverse, I get the constant beep.

I'm assuming I'll have to plug something into either the 4 or 7 pin connector, but my main question is the wiring. Does the factory harness just sense a plug there, or will I have to modify wiring on the harness in order to get the computer to think there's a trailer there and stop the incessant backup warnings?

I have a 7-4 converter as well as a 4pin laying around unused, so willing to use those if it's just a matter of connecting 2 wires.

I could be wrong but I swear there is a button just to the right of the auto start stop that turns the parking sensors off.

Plug in one of those 3rd brake light light bars and zip tie it to your basket.

OMG That is easy - and apparently I'm a Dumas! Never even paid any attention to the fact there was another button to the right of my ASS!

Now you have me questioning my ability to drive 1300 miles given my not so awesome powers of observation.

Not sure if this will work with the Bronco but I had an older F150 that I plugged a 4 pin tester (tester used to check that circuits are working at plug when trouble shooting trailer light issues) into the 4 pin connector It would trick the truck into thinking a trailer was hooked up and as a added bonus it disabled the auto start stop from working. A newer truck I disabled ass with forscan and on the Bronco my FPP leaves tge ASS as I have it set.
