When should I receive order confirmation?

I’m seeing that a lot of people are posting their order confirmation emails from Ford today.

But upon asking my sales person when I would get mine, I was told

“ I just don’t know. It could be weeks or it could be months.”

Does this sound right any of you?
Or should I be trying to call another dealership to place an order?

***also, I’m considering placing a second order with another dealership.
1. As a back up.
2. help my chances of getting an order confirmation email.

but the biggest question that is messing with my head is… would I void both or one of the orders of Ford Sees I placed two orders with two different dealerships?
I can’t get a real answer so far on any of these threads.
Anybody out there know the answer.?

i know Ford is trying to cut back on people placing multiple orders just so they can flip for a profit.
I hope that wouldn’t penalize me.

Confirmation happens basically as soon as Ford gets the order. Typically within a day of you placing the order with your dealer. They may not actually order it until later in the day or the next.

You receive an order confirmation when your dealer submits your order in WBDO (Web-Based Dealer Ordering System). To get an order confirmation, your order has to be attached to your email address. If your dealer does not add your email address to your order, obviously you won't get anything. Should also mention that Ford's email system is notoriously slow, but it's pretty clear they have have been working to improve it.

I realize that is a bunch of non-answers packed together, but we really don't know. Either your dealer didn't submit your order, or your email address was never added to your order, or Ford's email system is simply backed up again.

I don’t know the correct answer. I can say what happened with my case. My dealer put my request in today. Some time today. And I received the confirmation email late afternoon. About 430ish.

Feb 2021 order. My dealer sent me the DORA and w/in 10 minutes I received the Ford e-mail.

Couple changes since then for MY changes or Order Modification and always get the Ford email within 1 hour of DORA

I got my email around 10am which is roughly when I finished talking to my salesman.

I haven’t signed anything or got any other communication since.

If I were you, I’d definitely want some sort of verification that you actually have an order.

Lots of dealers enter their own email addy for whatever stupid reason. Then they act shocked that you want the updates to go to you. Call and double check for sure.

I received my build email a few hours after I signed my order.

I did not sign anything just by email. Yet I received confirmation from Ford. Dealership that ordered on my behalf said I am obligated to buy it when they receive it. Is this true? How about if I don’t want it anymore and decided not to trade but keep my current Bronco. I want to switch from 2.3 to 2.7.

Yes and I ended up with 2 order confirmations. I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing.

I'll take one. Just kidding, but that's way better than what I have so far, which is zero confirmations. I wonder if I still have time to get to a different dealer...

first time around i got it 15 minutes from order and the next time took about 1 week.
