An appreciation post for my recently purchased ‘24 Wildtrak. It plowed through the sand dunes with ease. Very satisfying and so much fun! IAG brush guard added after the fact.

This is awesome. Do you air down? The extent of my off-roading is mostly driving the soft, deep sands of the Outer Banks. I really appreciate any posts about driving in the beach sands!

Aired down to ~20psi and did the trick. Much of the sand is pretty soft and it did just fine at that level. Need to go down and tackle the Outer Banks sometime!

In my fiction a girl from Utah is undecided whether to accept a ride home with a Harvard guy she's just met. Her more savvy friend points out that his classic LandRover Defender 210 has a Nantucket beach access pass. That changes her mind!

On a later date, he's too drunk to drive, but won't give her the keys. "You can't drive this. It has a schtick stiff."
"You're not taking the wheel, Lars. The keys, please."
"But it's got a stick stiff."
"Lars, I was driving tractors when I was five. I'm driving."

What beach? Cisco? Nobadeer? I see you have the Town permit. For Great Point looking at 14 psi and 12 if you hit Coatue.

Looks like a good time!
But I can't believe any beach/state park would let folks plow through the sand dunes. In our Seashore State Parks that would get you a fine and loss of Surf Fishing Permit.

I take my ‘24 Wildtrak nearly weekly to Assateague National Seashore On Sand Vehicle portion of the beach. No dunes and relatively flat but a lot of soft sand. I routinely use Sand mode with tires down to 22 psi. No issues to date with temp unavailable 4WD and plow through ruts in the sand. As a former Wrangler and Gladiator owner I find the Bronco every bit as capable on the beach.

most of the actual dunes are restricted for driving, but you have to cross over/through the dunes in designated drive-on entry points to get to the beach in most cases.

That is Nobadeer. Just had the town permit, so didn't do Great Point/Coatue, but understand lower psi is recommended for those areas.

The dunes are generally prohibited, because they protect the shoreline from erosion. But many of the more rural east coast beaches allow driving on the beach, sometimes with a permit required.

My Bronco did great at the Outer Banks of N.C., just aired down to around 18 psi and used Sand mode. (I'm told you should also disable traction control, but I didn't know to do that, still had no problems getting around.)

They let you hit the beaches there - but not dunes and cops on ATVs are everywhere. Grilling and booze AOK, which can get out of control. I think it is too much. You will find me on these empty beaches at 2am fishing. This is same beach OP was at except 4th of July. Some years back but has not changed much. Otherwise nice enough family area which I expect OP experienced.
