Hi- 4 door Wildtrak Hardtop here.

my rear passenger window just started to bounce back. I go to close it and it reaches the top and bounces back down almost to full open. It does this with auto up and manual up.

I found this fix in another thread but doesn’t work for me.

Any other suggestions?

This happens to me pretty often. Only workaround I've found is to get the window to its max closed position by quickly tapping the window switch when it's near the top, and then just leaving it like that and it'll usually fix itself after a day or two or a couple on/off cycles.

Hope this helps

Yeah thanks! I’ve kinda done the same. Manually get it as close to the top as I can.
I’ll give it a few days.

Its dust and dirt getting in the track. I have that same problem. I live in the desert, and as soon as I wash it and clean the top of the window and the top track its fine.

The reset procedure in the linked how to above might have to be done several times. I swear I've had to do it 5-6 times in a row to get my windows working at times. Also good to know about dust and stuff in the track, I think I've had more issues in hot, dry weather.

I also think these things are pretty tight when new, and loosen up over time. Will be interesting to see if I have to do the re-learn procedure as often next summer.

When mine does this... & different windows too.... I put it up without removing my finger off the button....hold for 5 or so seconds... and its reset. Although it may happen again shortly thereafter or way later down the road... but the hold for 5 works.

Just started happening to me, initially on the passenger side rear window, now on the driver side. Indo see how it can be the top of the track because it happens with the door open too. The window will not auto-close and bounces when it reaches the top. So annoying and yet another liability of the shitty design desion by Ford.

This is happening to me now too. Passenger rear window. It bounces down when it gets to the top. The auto up does not work, but the auto down does. The only way I can close my window is if I step it up to the top. Tried the reset process and that doesn’t work. I can’t do the reset process because the window bounces open when I try to close it. Seals and tracks are clean.

Thanks, I have that list saved also… but found this on page 3:

Hmmm how do I clean the tracks? It shouldn’t be dirty as it’s garage kept and clean.

Clean the rubber seals with some mild detergent and a rag - car wash soap, simple green, window cleaner - something like that. Just a quick wash down to get any dust or dirt off.

Once it’s dry spray the rubber all down with aerosol dry silicone lube (not versions with teflon or anything) - it dries totally clear and doesn’t leave a residue and is pretty good for eliminating squeaks and helping things move well.

Thanks, I do that for the rubber seals. I use the Honda silicon shin-etsu elsewhere for squeaks.

Looks like I’m gonna clean them again tomorrow. And try moving the bolts at the bottom of the door :(. It’s weird that moving the bolts outward (away) brings the window tighter to the rubber seals…
