So I make the appointment to do the windshield replacement at the shop thinking it would be a better idea than switching it out in the open in my driveway. They deliver Bronco and first thing I notice is the mark on the dash? WTH? Try to get it off myself in parking lot with no luck. Then I notice the windshield is totally off center. Look how much room is on one side compared to the other. Not to mention the exposed glue. So now another appointment next week to replace this one. And they are saying they can get scuff off or whatever they did to dash. I’m not so sure as they worked on it for about 10 to 15 minutes with no luck and actually made things worse.Any ideas on dash as I know it is some form of plastic with like a textured finish on it. Those that have had the windshield replaced, how tight to the edges is the replacement compared to original? I’m beyond pissed with whole situation with a ride that is not even 4 months old.

Amateur hour take it back. I only let the dealer touch my glass and I take pics of everything when drop off on site. I've had carpets damaged /holed, glove box and console covers scratched, broken side mirror, dents, ripped driver's seat.....animals!

Luckily, I haven't had to replace by Bronco windshield (yet). I had it replaced on my pathfinder, and one day while it rained, i thought I heard water in the car, but couldn't see anything. It turned out water was leaking behind the dash for sometime and didn't visibly get anything wet, until the mother of all storms came by and got our seats soaked. A clock and radio went dead, too. It turns out previous tech didn't do a good job. Took it a place recommended by mechanic, and they told me about the poor quality of work done on car, fixed up rust caused by poor job, gave me a good price, and sent me on my way happy. Clock and radio still don't work...

Over various new BMW, Mercedes, Volvo, Mustang over the years.....I just get OE glass I know its DOT spec with good optics and the cost spread with other is not material.

I would be open to other premium brand for sure and may try it.

Called my insurance today. They pass you on to a Safelite rep, but I can take it elsewhere. They will cover non-OEM 100% ($728). They want $340 for OEM. I will be fighting that tomorrow…I verified OEM replacement when I got the policy. I really don’t want to go to SafeLite.

I'm getting the film next time as a 2 year consumable just to try it out it's USD 700 in Canada installed at dealer. I may shop around I saw some alternate brand quasi endorsements here some where.

Does safelite do oem as well? I didn’t think it was that big of a deal because I figured it would be replaced again within another year or two as it has only been three months with the first replacement. Now I am thinking the fit of the OEM might be better than the aftermarket that they messed up on my install with and are doing it again next week.

This is the first Ford that I have had but with previous foreign cars, none of the dealerships did it themselves. But someone just told me today that some ford dealerships actually install windshields? If I had known that I would have gone that route for sure.

Most Ford dealerships, at least all the ones I know, sublet the work to local installers.

My shop has a local glass company that does all of ours.
