The general consensus seems to be, it will be problematic to wrap the textured top. Seems reasonable considering how the adhesion works.

I have been looking around the net, and I am seeing some wrapped Jeep tops. My JKU top is textured in a apparently different way than the MIC Bronco top.

I wonder if they are sanding and prepping it, or if the new wraps will work, and tend to "smooth" out the texture.

Maybe what I am seeing on the net, are tops with a lot of pre work done, to accept the film?

Just like a lot of folks, trying to figure out a white top solution, and linex type products to seem to be it for me.

My Jeep top is smooth (painted fiberglass).

Are people successfully wrapping the textured Jeep tops?

There is no way to successfully wrap a textured top . The vinyl will bridge the gap created by the texture and trap air pockets under the film . You should be able to dye the top easily with any vinyl dye though .

Probably not, and either painted like yours, or maybe sanded smooth.

I have read on the vinyl dye, maybe I will give it a whirl. Hell, I'm going to try wrapping the body and never have, so why not.

Would a heat gun assist in adhesion? How about more of a permanent type of wrap, one that is not meant to ever be removed?

Any bump under the surface of a wrap is magnified when you wrap it. Dips can mostly be hidden, but dips and bumps together is just not gonna come out good. Especially, when you have to start bending it around curves.

Here's what you have to work with on MIC Bronco tops (assuming they haven't tweaked it). Thanks to @broadicustomworks for the pic.

You might be able to liquid wrap it spray on vinyl but It would need prep and sanding still

Might have to wait for a white one (I hate the idea of just pitching the top, because it will probably not be in any kind of demand), or have a body shop paint it.

Thanks for all the info, I know it mostly confirms what 300 other threads said, but hey, got to kill the time somehow.
