What I find interesting is the Ranger guys seem to have the stance its a not wear issue, just an annoyance issue. I can't really find anything on a widespread problem. Everyone gets to do what they want with their truck/Bronco/Mustang, but this seems like analogies from earlier year cars...
I don't think this Bronco will be collectable really. Still a high percentage of manuals (in comparison to most vehicles), and it is a mass produced, SUV, with a high nostalgia draw now, but likely wont be viewed as a classic.
I don't think I would buy this car for any type of investment...
I don't understand the "nuisance" issue. I guess if you like to punch it at each light it might be an issue, but in normal driving, my Tremor's on/off works fine. Takes a little getting used to the fact it shuts off, but seems a progressive step to me.
Instead of immediately doing something...
Bought a Ranger Tremor instead. I now a lot of folks don't much care for them, but I really like it, and hauled a recliner in it yesterday, so am already happy to have the truck. I really think they nailed the Bronco, but as time went buy, and excitement gave way to reason, I realized I think...
Get the Wildtrak. Or be like everyone else and get the Badlands, that has features you never described needing in your initial post.
Between the two I would get Wildtrak just not to be like everyone who says Badlands is the ultimate model.
Good luck on decision.
Was talking to my dealer yesterday. Ford did propose that they move to a order and ship, dealer becoming service center only. Massive uproar from dealers. That is fair though, as Ford has dictated what dealerships need for showrooms, and they invest a lot to meet that. It is a complicated...
I think you can likely get a higher private offer. If you have something not to mainstream, it just becomes taxing in my opinion. I did Carmax, and frankly, it was so easy, that I can't imagine private selling ever again.
Well I went with the Orange not Apple. I think the Bronco is so cool, but in the last months, I have been fighting the thought that it is more a second car for me, than a one car solution. As I tell my wife, I like to haul some crap once in a while. While the Tremor doesn't have a big bed...
Same for me. Curious what will populate. Mine is almost blank now, though it never showed the build date, even after the Ford Vin email.
My dealer confirmed my build date was moved back 3 weeks.
OBX. I ordered the Black Diamond, and really, have regretted it more days than not. I have never needed a rear locker, and that's hunting(past tense for me) and driving the roads you mentioned. My Jeep and F150 did just fine without, along with my dads 4WD's that also always handled the job...
I am so close, I will likely just wait and get the Bronco, unless the June 28th week slides significantly. Likely can always sell it in 6 months or year if I decide it was a poor decision.
I get your point. I just don't look at it that way. Power to weight ratio, the 4 is pretty good compared to a lot of trucks. I live in big ass truck land here, and everyone has their V8 or big diesel. Constantly stomping on them. I don't get it. They are still slow as shit, moving all that...
I hear you on the bed length. We did just drive by and look at Ranger Tremor. Personally I like the look, and its not a Tacoma (nothing against them, I think they look good), which are everywhere. That 5' bed is tiny though. I mean the 6' isnt huge, but it does make things easier. I dont...
That's where I am at also. I have been struggling with the "utility" of the Bronco for a while now. For me, I think they did a great job on the Bronco, so it has never been that the Bronco lacks, but what do I need really. While I can always rent or borrow a truck for some need, its handy...
Nothing like wrestling with whether the Bronco best fits my needs, and then see these two are on the lot. Fighting the urge to go see them, as it may mean I buy one!
Keep telling myself, unless something changes, Bronco should be here by end of July, unless I get a delay email.
Anyone look...
Or you could realize that you will not notice the difference between either motor in your intended activities, and bigger engine talk is somewhat archaic in this day and age.
It cannot carry much payload
It cannot tow much
It wont handle well at speed (compared to car)
There is no place to...
