Hey guys!

I finally got around to changing out my non-sas fender flares! I have 17x8.5-0 wheels that poke past my non-sas flares quite a bit. This lead to more rock chips than I can fix and ultimately ripping off one of my rear flares after airborne driving because the tire was unable to tuck into the flare. I could have just put OEM sas flares on but thats no fun. Instead I installed some carbon fiber flares made by Composite Off-road Parts that you can get from Lobo Off-road.

Im extremely impressed with the finish. They look like a part right off a million dollar supercar. Out of place on a Bronco? Maybe a little, but the necks I'm breaking everywhere I go is priceless:LOL:. Speaking of price, they come in at $1600 for the set of OEM style and $1700 for the high clearance variant. Comparing them Jeep JL carbon flares that come in around $2600, I would say they are actually reasonably priced for what they are.

The install takes a little patience. They delete the factory turnstyle quick release with rivnuts that require you to upsize only the guide holes utilized by the stock flares. Will this make it a little more time consuming to remove the flares? Yes, but at the same time I wouldn't want my new eye catching flares to just be yanked off by anyone that knows how the Bronco flares work. They also require slight hole adjustment to dial in the placement, that I was able to accomplish with a drill and some standard bits. Overall not that hard and only took me a couple hours. Lobo has detailed video on how to install.

So far I'm obsessed with how they look and think they will be more durable than the flimsy OEM flares. Next step is to get some PPF on them to help prevent rock chips. What do you guys think? Am I crazy? Did I gain instant HP? Do you also have a carbon fiber addiction?

Everything you'll need. (Drill, 25/64 Bit, 5/16 Bit, Step Bit, Rivnut tool, 10mm Wrench, Detail Spray)

The smaller 5 holes on each flare location will be slightly upsized to 25/64" for rivnut install. Then it's just trying on the flare and hole adjustment until placement is perfect.

My broken OEM non-sas flares. This is a common outcome from barely touching the OEM flare with your tire because its multi-layered barely held together plastic.

Those look insane! I would definitely be hesitant to use them offroad but I like the idea of less plastic trim

Too rich for my blood, but looks sharp! I was thinking of applying some carbon fiber (simulated) wrap in a few places on my Bronco (if it ever arrives). I wonder how well wrap would stick to flares. Carbon fiber wrap has worked well on the dash of my sports car. A lot easier and more fun than painting.

Looks good. I run the forge carbon flairs on my rig. I always get the question of are they muddy? Then people see them up close and go OH WOW! lol.

They certainly are priced that way!! You can get a pair of fiberglass and carbon fiber halo doors from Anderson Composites for that!!

Way way WAAAY too much $$$ for a set of flares.

That’s like taping seventeen $100 bills on the outside of your door as you drive down the road. Nope.

They look excellent.

Too expensive for off-road use, CF looks worse than plastic when scratched, IMHO.

I'm thinking too expensive for a mall crawler....way too expensive for an off road rig. But if you like them and have the cash...why not (y)🍺

I actually like how they look although I'm not a big CF fan. I personally wouldn't hit the trails with them. Enjoy them while they're still shiny! 😎

Those seem well made and fit the shape perfectly. I'm sure you knew you'd get people thinking you're nuts for spending that much, but you earned it (I assume!) spend it as you see fit! But this is what it costs for hand-laid carbon fiber parts. Skilled labor isn't cheap and neither is carbon fiber.

I would personally have them painted to match the body, but I'm also not in the norm as I hate the look of raw carbon fiber.

To each their own! Little too much bling for me personally. But I do like the standard wide Air Design styling...just not the carbon. Boy, they are proud of those things...that price!!

I can find better things to spend $1,600 bucks on than carbon fiber flares.

But if this makes you happy then who gives a shit!
